F-Yea!!!! Brandon, Mississippi!!!

Sometimes it just takes some good old fashioned southern hospitality to get the job done right.

Now I imagine some of you agree and some could quite possibly disagree with what happened. I know that aside from the religious threads there are those who are almost exclusively political social science oriented. I'd enjoy hearing from some of you who I never get the chance to discuss w/... as well as any of the usual crew I talk w/ who don't normally frequent this kind of thing.... its like Politics... and Religions....

These people disgust me. If you disagree with the war, go parade about it somewhere else instead of someone's funeral. It is irreverant and just plain heartless. What the county did wasn't necessarily the right thing to do but I'm surprised more things like this haven't happened to the Westboro Baptists.

That was just pure win. Really. I'm all for freedom of speech, but what the Westboro Baptists do is freaking harassment, and that's just not okay.

In addition to that, that angry lady you always see has such a freaking scary smile. She looks like some kind of homicidal maniac just waiting to cut your head off with a rusty shovel, only to set it on fire and run it over with her car nine times. She scares me!

lol

That's a nice way of getting around it.

What both sides did was equally terrible; then again Westboro does not resort to violence or sedition what they do is legal. Unfortunately I find myself more annoyed with how the situation was handled than I would have been if the church would have protested.

I find this to be just as effective (Westboro didn't show up for various protests that they had scheduled), more intelligent, and a better way to fight these people.

But signs do nothing to halt protests. using initiative does.

the only violence I'm aware of was carried out after the guy ran his mouth... i'm not saying its correct in any setting, but if I go to some store and just start bad mouthing people... I'm probably going to get hit.

you don't really plan the death of someone... and they had already shown up to the area... they were going to be there. atleast one of the items on the list showed vandalism... I'm not sure if anyone there vandalized their stuff...

I'd think them lucky for having had that little done to them.

i agree with samy here, it is never a good idea to take the law into ones own hands...

I disagree with you on that point Mr. Squidbears.

people used to take the law into their own hands... people were lynched.

I've heard nothing about the lynching of the Phelps's. Or them being harmed in anyway. Unless you know otherwise.

i'm just saying that when people take the law into their own hands.. things can get out of control and people can die.

are you saying that the law is always correct and the most righteous way? ....that it can never fail or be biased? that if it ever were we shouldn't stand up and make it right? that what we perceive as injustices that are allowed due to vague far encompassing rules are to just be allowed and accepted?

The anonymous movement whose ranks can be filled by anyone at anytime seems to think certain things should be done. I reference them not as a "oh look at them," but as a show of how 1000s (if not more)of people around the world can and do think otherwise.

revolutions (good and bad) all happen b/c people take matters into their own hands.

I'm more of a do what's right kind of person. Usually it coincides with the law and the "rights" of other people... but rarely it does not.

i feel the laws we have here in america are perfectly fair, WBC wasnt breaking the law.. they might have deserved to get beaten, but its against the law, and its wrong

they weren't beaten. They were peacefully kept away from the funeral till it was over.
