This is one of the most BS rulings by the supreme court ever. If they wanted to piss off a ton of Americans by passing one leagal thing, this should do it.

Basically, we can sue big conglomorates anymore- in class action lawsuits.

I have to agree with the ruling to some extent. People are so sue happy today. If it tastes off, SUE! If it is too hot, SUE, if there is a small problem, SUE, if they look at me funny, SUE. I'm just tires of everyone suing each other for stupid stuff. It's a joke. Now, since I'm no business major, I hope that was somewhat relevant, if not, I tried!

Oh I agree, you Americans are very sue happy. And to some extent I agree with the ruling, however, it isn't impatial and that's what bothers me. Also, it's big business...I hate big business.

Laws like this are slowly going to keep passing and passing without much media attention. And before we know it this is not going to be the happy fun democracy anymore... It's hopeless... There is not enough courage/public knowledge to start a revolution before it's too late. Just sit and wait you will see.

If only you could secretly educate the masses...

I believe they call that brainwashing unless I am reading this wrong.

I believe secretely educating was meant to be the opposite of brain washing. To open peoples eyes to some truth and get them out of la la land.

Secret from whom? And who is to say that the ones doing the education aren't the ones in "la la land"?

Republicans have more guns, more money, and more power than you. Your own policies will get you killed.

If only you could secretly educate the masses...

I was talking about this. I believe he meant secretly educating the masses by letting them know how corrupt government is. People in "LA LA land" was meant like... the people who think the government is doing everything in our best interest and don't ask questions.

Exactly. I'd like to see where a politic free world where everyone wasn't an idiot. Then we'd all get along because we'd know it'd be better in the long run.

I actually enjoy politics. It is much better than debating religion.

I'd like to see where a politic free world

Thats called an anarchy. Very bad, very stupid, and you definently don't want that.

Then we'd all get along because we'd know it'd be better in the long run.

No we wouldn't. People would start gangs and take over chunks of the world, then there would be dictators, after that, protesting and then development of democracy. Politics are what makes the world work.

I did read that... But if everyone weren't idiots we would still have a democracy, we wouldn't restart the government at all, we'd just have people with above average IQ's in office. And I'm glad your fantasizing because the USA is getting stupider every day.

Ironic, ironic, ironic. You see, I created a thread on democracy's fails quite a time ago, and, frankly, most people said that the best way to go would be to take the path of a dictatorship with a strong checks and balances system. We would restart the "gummit" because the former one was created by drunks that has little progress in today's modern society. The only similarity is the fact that people are as stupid as back then. We're just not drunk. You get it now?

The checks and balances system would be nice in case someone would go mad with power, I forgot to include this with my last post.

The present Supreme Court has a history of voting for not only big companies, but also against defendants who have been wronged by the system. In a recent case, the justices totally ignored the "Fruit of the Poisoned Tree" law, and affirmed a conviction based on evidence found through an illegal search and seizure.
