its kind of a hard thing to take after all these years, im still sceptical but then again i have no real reason to be, what i find hard to believe is that he was just there in amansion just outs islamabad, i mean im pretty certain there must have been people in the pakistani government working to help him
and as has been said this wont change anything, but at leats it can give some people some closue and yoive gotta tke the small victories otherwise what else have you got?
quikly reading trough your postes, i got that some of you are happy about this "small" victory while others think that it won't change anything. Actually this change many things, for starters there might be some retaliations from the Al-qaida's side. the second thing it sends a message to those dude hiding: "even your leader isn't save!" and to end bin laden wasn't just a figure head, he was the dude who organized people and trained them, and sponsered his army.(with the help from many sides)
no thats what he used to be, not for along time has he done any of that, and what message would that be, it took us ten years to find an elderly man with a kidney dyalysis machine who has escapoed from under our noses numerous times! so were sure as hell gonna find you at some point!
@kalb what you said would be a valid point except your refusing to accept or reply to the argument against you that is that Osama had no real power he was a figurehead
there is no such thing as used to be (now he is used to be cuz he's dead). he was a leader when he was alive, he wasn't so old as for he's sickness he got a s**tload of many to deal with it. i agree that it took very long to resolve this situation, but i wasn't because US intel was doing a bad job, the cause is in deplomacy. having a big diplomatic wieght doesn't give USA the possibility to just barge in some country so deep in middle east, it's actually the opposite. (pakistan is known for strong anti usa sentiments i wouldn't be suprised if other high figures of other jihad org. are based there and recive a high sponsorship+menpower)
Osama Bin Laden wasn't the only one killed. 3 people were, him, the 'heir' to Al-Queda -Osamas son, and someone who hasn't been identified. All American forces (FBI, CIA, Seals etc.) are now on high alert because of this. They may of just dug a bigger hole for themselves.
yes there is, before 9/11 he had some actual power, he is (was) a figurehead and an inspiration for the Taliban soldiers (they are closely linked BTW some people not completely separate) and yes actually US Intel and military has slipped up in finding him, the marines had him cornered at the top of a mountain in Afghanistan and he managed to escape although saying this it hasnt been a catalogue of errors
and yes i am aware the usa has no power to just barge in and start searching door to door for terrorist in foreign countries, that was my point, how does bin laden finally being captured after much wasted time effort lives and equipment spent looking for him send any kind of a message to and jihad fighters, all weve done is create a martyr for islamist extremeists to follow
Should I be scared if I was just discussing conspiracy theories with a friend, and hear what sounds like a camera zooming in when Im in my room...and definitely alone?
I absolutely refuse to believe that he's dead. Its too convenient for Obama. Just like 9/11 was too convenient for Bush.
and yes actually US Intel and military has slipped up in finding him, the marines had him cornered at the top of a mountain in Afghanistan and he managed to escape although saying this it hasnt been a catalogue of errors
what are your sources of info?
a figurehead and an inspiration for the Taliban soldiers
he would die a martyr in either way, look a it this way if tomorrow a president is killed by a terrorist, many citizens of that country would flee and abondon the idea of fighting same for the terrorist many will think twice before plotting attacks on people.(im not talking about idiots that think that paradise awaits them but the real ploter and commanders of that mechanism)
i can see some truth in what your saying keeton but it could just be a simple coincidence i mean in all likely hood he would have been caught at some point
fantasy4life someone already said that joke, soory
no 0shim, these are not rational thinking western citizens, do not try to liken them to then as all comparisons will be moot, this will only srve to anger many extremeists, and the senior mebers will be forced to save face somehow, and the only way they can do that is to up the war effort with the taliban or plan a large scale terrorist attack, and my source for that info was a BBC documentary lats year
I didnt really want to reply back so early. But what I said about the camera noises, in my room, somewhere behind me, in a vent. I think I got one of my theories right for once. (not the Osama thing...Im probably wrong as hell)
me too i view this whole event a little skeptically, i can't shake the filling of conspiracy. but hey fillings aren't always true, and unfortunatly so are medias.
