Anyone else think Obama's speech was terrible self-serving?

I agree. And, I want to be happy. Everyone is celebrating and overjoyed. But, he was said to be dead once before and he wasn't. Hopefully it is true this time.

I was amazed when I was watching the news and some guy being interviewed said (paraphrasing here 'it's good that he's dead because it makes it easier since we won't need to have a trial or court case'.... weeeeellll I'm glad the death of an (evil) human being makes it easier! He'd have probably been killed eventually anyway sure but that statement made me laugh.

As for conspiracies I'm sure there's video/photo evidence... not that that will be good enough for some people >_>

roll on the Osama jokes...

I was one of the hundred people (3-4 years ago) that knew Osama Bin Laden was going to die. I knew it, because of the Nostrodamus effect (don't know how to spell it) in the History channel. Let's just hope that we don't get attack.

Unless someone has already pointed this out, try to be sure your "facts" are true. Here is the (probably) true story: A team of about 5 was looking around some suspected terrorism sites to see if they could capture anyone, and upon entering one building they were shot at and they entered a 5 v. 3-7 shootout. After the gunfire no soldier was injured, so they decided to go check who they had killed, and, among others, they found Osama. It was completely by a chance. They dumped Osama somewhere in some ocean. This is as far as I've head from the news because due to the media gathering as much info as possible it may be a while until the full story is released. This won't be the end of terrorism, it'll be around forever. Some of you may be wondering "So what?" Well, Osama is the 21st century version of Hitler, to give you an idea.

I admire your trust in the American Government. They SAID they killed him. They SAID they identified and validated him using his and his "sisters" blood. They SAID they dumped him in the ocean. (Traditional burial by sea) Does anyone have any real proof that the man existed, and that he is dead, other than what "THEY" SAID?

Not really. Hitler committed genocides and took over a lot of Europe. He was also very charismatic.
I'm not saying that Osama is any better, but I just don't think you can put them in the same category.

Navy SEALS dumped the body of a man that has been on the Wanted List for over 10 years into the ocean hours after 'killing' him? Doesn't this seem fishy (pun possibly intended)?

Not only that, Hilter commited genocide on a monstrous scale, millions upon millions died. Osama can't even come close to that. There are leaders in Africa (like Uganda, for example) who have killed WAY more than Osama.

Don't be a conspirator. If america just launched a military operation on another country's soil for an imaginary man, they would be in a hell of a lot of trouble. The only reason were not in trouble is because we now have a defense against Pakistan's argument. If they say we just launched a military operation on their soil, we can say that we had a good reason and that they should have known he was there. Besides for that, what could possibly be the point of creating an imaginary terrorist?

Apparently it was something to do with an Islamic tradition - maybe they gave him a 'roper' funeral as soon as possible so that they could avoid riots or the enemy claiming that the US was desecrating the corpse of an important figure-head/leader.

Now, all of the sudden we are respecting Islamic culture and tradition? When we have previously bombed mosques, etc. without concern?
