This is why we should allow and regulate drug use in America. So stuff like this doesn't happen any more.

Plus the fact that it is way more expensive to keep it illegal than it is to make it legal.

Police originally said Guerena fired at officers before they returned fire. They had to revise that statement when it was revealed that the safety on Guerena's gun had not been switched off.

^ That just makes it so much worse

Anyways, I don't think this is a valid argument for legalizing drugs, the reason they shot was because he was armed, and that wasn't related to the crime for which he was suspected.

[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP0f00_JMak] Youtube video. Don't tell me that it isn't real, I know that it may be fake. However, if it is the real deal, they responded with much more force than was necessary in the situation. It was a pistol, on safety and a guy ran up just to shoot the poor *******.[/url]

the reason they shot was because he was armed,

Inside the privacy of his own home, which isn't illegal. The only reason he was packing heat was because a bunch of guys were running up to his house and breaking down his door.

and that wasn't related to the crime for which he was suspected.

They wouldn't have been there if they didn't think he had drugs.

It should be part of the argument, especially for marijuana. Once you have already shown marijuana is harmless(which we have), you can then show that the government and law enforcement has no idea how to handle the drugs being illegal.

There's a pretty big debate about this going on in another thread.

There is another thread about this created two years ago and people are still posting stuff. I suggest locking this thread(if that's possible here) and continuing on the existing one.

I wouldn't call it harmless but it does stand on par with other legal drugs.

I just think that there should be laws which make sure that doiesn't happen. Lots of drugs like tobacco are only legal because there would be too many protests if there weren't

in many cases marijuana is much safer than alchohol. (I never done it myself, I just know these things.)

the term you're thinking is goverment lobbying by the tobacco companies.

But marijuana does impair your driving just as much as alcohol does.

i think you should not legalize drugs such as weed, crack, and heroin because they are illegal cuz they are WAY more dangerous than tobacco and alcohol cuz they are more addictive and kill you faster

But we still allow alcohol don't we? The law gives people limits and expects them to follow those limits. It would be the same for marijuana. If you take more than the legal limit to impair your cognitive reflexes than you wouldn't drive or you would get a DUI.

Actually marijuana is not addicting to the comparison of alcohol and/or nicotine whatsoever. Now I'm not going to argue for heroin or cocaine but please do your research on narcotics if you are going to make a blank claim.

Just to clarify I'm in no way a druggie nor do I take drugs, I am just arguing a pretty obvious point... and being a devil's advocate when it comes to dull arguments

Let's put it like this, Drugs are bad mkay?

Putting that great line aside, even if you legalize marijuana, it's still going to cause addictions and side effects. From personally knowledge, after using marijuana for say 4 weeks, you lose a lot of weight due to having the feeling to eat more (Munchies) and after the feelings of being high go away, you no longer have the feeling of being hungry. It's all on a matter of different eating habits.

Plus, the price of marijuana can be vastly ranged from where you buy it.

He has the right to bear arms and to protect his home. Taking a gun with you to see who breaks into your house is not illegal. The man was protecting his wife and child! He was a man who knew the value of life and died protecting it.

Honestly, I think drugs should not be regulated by the Fed. Think about it, do you honestly want the people who is stupid enough to send SWAT teams in to kill innocent people to be in charge of controlling drugs?! **** no. Let state government tax their own drugs. Sin taxes are BS anyway in my opinion, we don't even need to tax it if we can cut our spending. So let's not legalize marijuana as a way to "get out of debt". That's like saying we should legalize marijuana not as a way to preserve freedom, but to fix the debt created by the fed.

Let's legalize it. Nothing more, nothing less. Then let's work from there!

Also, I highly encourage everyone watching this video. Warning, the video contains graphic images and strong language.
