I am saddened that I will not witness what is to become of the human race and all of the technological advancements that could be made and what that could lead to. I would not go so far as to say I would like to live forever though.
If you continued to age, but just didn't die, your mind would degenrate into a vegetable state and you would probably be completely immobile due to arthritis etc.
Not to mention all the emotional trauma you would go through losing all the friends or families you'd ever know in this future.
In short, everlasting life sounds nice, but it's a poisoned chalice.
thats bright thinking... what are the chances of everyone you've ever 'made a bond with', people younger than you, healthier than you or just livelier than you all dying before you finally go anyways?
50/50. Death is the most unpredictable thing on earth. You could have a 'life' gene that makes you live til' you're 100 years old. And they could die in car accidents, from cancer, simply just dieing, etc. Of course, all that could happen to you as well.
On this planet, with all this crap goin on, hell no!
I, of course, am religious and believe we will be returned to god so i think that it is impossible. Since i do believe there is a heaven, im really lookin forward to that....
I'd prefer if I could choose when I could die. I don't want to die in such a short time, but I wouldn't want to live forever with no choice of when your going to die.
I don't know how much floating in space or burning up in the middle of the sun I could take. There would definitely be some downfalls. I would only want to live forever if as a side bonus I was omniscient.
i would untill the human race became extinct..unless we find another lifeform as advanced or more advanced as us...all those who say it would be boring-i disagree. i think that it would be cool to see how our form of life advances and evolves...but if everyone else evolved then i'd be the odd one out...but anyway my answer is yes!
