I love the weather and have always been interested in it. To me, the creation of incredible storms and the patterns of heat, wind, fronts, and pressure systems in absolutely incredible, especially since many of these things still baffle humans!
I want to know: does anybody share my interest? Any other weather buffs out there? Or, some interesting story or fact about the weather?
I have good news! Irene has weakened to a tropical storm! However, it is still dangerous. It will cause dangerous flooding in low-lying areas, and strong winds will knock down trees and subsequently power lines.

Stay inside and safe until the storm is over!
My ex said it's heading up to Maine? I'm glad it's weakening. Don't want any friends/family having any trouble up there !
Well in Ireland it's dry which has shocked me. It's overcast, dull, and the air has a hint of "Don't do anything today because i'll rain and ruin it" about it.
Irene has left, but dangerous conditions remain in some areas, such as flooding and downed power lines. Millions are without power...
Tropical Storm Jose dissipated early this morning. It formed about two days ago not far west of Bermuda and had minimal impacts.
Tropical Depression Twelve has formed, and is expected to become a hurricane over the next few days. Luckily, its early intensification may help to carry it away from the U.S. before it can cause any major harm.
Tropical Storm Katia (pronounced "KAH-tee-uh", NOT "KAY-tee-uh" now has winds of 60mph, but will not affect land anytime soon. It is expected to become a major (category 3) hurricane by late this weekend, and is worth watching as it nears the numerous islands scattered about the Caribbean.
A disorganized area of showers is a little ways south and east of the Yucatan Peninsula (the little finger sticking out of the east coast of Mexico), and could organize into a tropical storm as it moves northward into warm, Gulf of Mexico waters.
In other news, it rained here today! Too bad all my classes are in rooms without windows... But I saw some pictures on the news, and the line looked pretty wicked moving in. It was pouring for a good two, three hours. I hope for more soon!
Yeah but I think I am safe for these. Very few hurricane go up the east coast and we got lucky with irean. I heard that about 11 people were killed, some were rescuers. Very sad for their families
