I love the weather and have always been interested in it. To me, the creation of incredible storms and the patterns of heat, wind, fronts, and pressure systems in absolutely incredible, especially since many of these things still baffle humans!
I want to know: does anybody share my interest? Any other weather buffs out there? Or, some interesting story or fact about the weather?
It's been cloudy off and on all this week. Yesterday and today I heard a boom of thunder, but only one. One of the reasons why I prefer winter. because even if the sun's out, it still has that nice, cool, feeling that makes you want to wear a jacket or (for the more bold) short sleeve shirt and shorts.
It's been getting hotter this week. But the temperature and weather is still jumping all over a place. Cloudy, cold, warm, mild, hot, very hot, sunny, 60 degrees, 80 degrees, 95 degrees, blah blah blah...
'm glad we dont have any major natural disasters
I don't really live near an earthquake fault but I can probably feel a earthquake. Hopefully it won't exceed 7.0 magnitude. The power still varies though, since it depends on how long the earthquake is. I wish technology will advanced much much faster so scientists can predict an earthquake or any other natural disaster that can't be predicted a few hours or days earlier to give time to prepare or escape.
And that would make people feel more safe and they wouldn't go through every single day saying to herself/himself, "Something bad is going to happen, something bad is going to happen."

I'd love to be able to wear shorts all winter! But my parents think I'll get cold. :/ Last year, I got the "What Would Your Mother Say" award in band for not ever wearing anything but shorts and a t-shirt for every band class (7:30 - 8:50 Monday - Friday).
I wish technology will advanced much much faster so scientists can predict an earthquake or any other natural disaster that can't be predicted a few hours or days earlier to give time to prepare or escape.
That would be nice... But I can't think of any way to predict an earthquake. How can you tell when and where all that pent up pressure will be released? I guess someone will figure it out eventually.
Most people are probably aware of the huge heat wave smothering over half of the country. The heat wave is caused by a high pressure center stalling over a large area and allowing little (if any) air movement. It allows the humid air from the Gulf to seep north, also.
Here's where I learned something cool: the same high pressure causing the heat wave is taking moisture from the Gulf and sending it up and around toward the Rocky Mountains, causing afternoon storms to occur frequently in the area.
My dog loves snow so much that it's a little funny. He will usually climb to the top of the largest snow pile, stick his nose in and eat some snow, then jump off into another pile of snow. It takes almost an hour to completely dry him off.

Weatherbug be trollin' me. It rained very lightly for about a minute today, but we were supposed to get heavy storms. It's supposed to be warm (mid 60s to mid 80s) for all of next week (I could've guessed that), with storms on Wed (50% chance) and Thurs (50% chance). That means they don't have any idea whether it will rain or not; flip a coin.
I also like the weather also. There was a terrible storm 2 nights ago it uprooted a tree that was close to my grandmothers sidewalk and it broke it. I watched the whole storm and that happen it was awesome!

I'm into storm patterns and storms themselves. I think it would be sweet to be a storm chaser and catch tornadoes on camera and photograph lightning. That's about as far as I go though.

I love watching storms, too! I just got back from seeing relatives in Colorado, and my great uncle showed me a tree that had its bark shredded from a lightning bolt. The tree was a mere 100 feet from their house! He told me that for a while him and his wife were watching the storm, but he decided they should go inside. A good decision, I guess!

Isn't rain the opposite of fire? :P Just kidding; I love that stuff, too! Whenever storms are forecasted, I take possession of the computer, and put a radar up. Then I run frantically between the computer and the front porch (faces west) to keep complete quarters on the storm! I also text my weather friends. :P It would be very interesting to actually see a tornado. I know they're really destructive and stuff like that, but they're still amazing mysteries that I'd love to explore...

Sorry, I left out your comment! I used to have a dog; she was a Siberian husky and LOVED snow! Every time it fell, she was barking at the door to be let outside. It was a pain to wipe her paws, but it was funny to watch her run in the snow!

You fools are complaining about 105 weather.... come down to the rio grande if you wanna get some 110+ heat, fool. Even in the "winter." Summer, I wont even go into. I get heat rash sitting next to a window. INSIDE THE FREAKING HOUSE. Nice weather though. It's been in the lower 90's so I'm all good. I like it when there's a cool breeze, and a warm sun.... That's called autumn. I love it. SOmetimes we get hurricanes.

Right now the weather in a Washington DC is pretty hot with a little humidity.
Last year I went to DC. It reminded me a ton of Iowa. Hot and humid with sneaky showers that pop up randomly. :P

I bet it's hot there. But is it humid? It feels like 115 here with the humidity we have. D: So you live somewhere in Arizona? These pictures show hurricane tracks. It seems like late June through early August brings the best chances of getting hit for you. What are they like? I've only seen videos and pictures.

Unless the government is hiding something. I don't really mind just as long as they come up with a solution to predict the unpredictable. But right now with all the budget and 14 whatever trillion dollars in debt, that leaves them busy.
