Recently Microsoft banned a user from Xbox Live named "TheGayerGamer" until he changed his screen name to something more appropriate. How do people feel about this? Arguments are flying from "my children are playing online with someone with this name and it's inappropriate" to "TheHeteroGamer wouldn't be banned so why should this one"... so what do people think about this situation?
I think it really depends on the way that member was using that gamertag. If he really is gay and wasn't using it in the way of "this game is so ghey!" sort of way, then there is an obvious fallacy.
But, either way he shouldn't have been banned. I am very surprised at Microsoft for doing that. The parents are ignorant.
The thing that is bizarre about it is that the Xbox Live community has some of the rudest, most inappropriate people ever conceived by humanity and when they voice chat it makes me want to stop playing. Microsoft's reasoning is over "offense" whereas I have to play with the headset turned off because of the people on XBL and their constant cussing and racism.
Now I'm curious to know: What was the exact trigger for his banning?
If it was, for example, several dozen complaints from several individuals who independently found his username offensive, then I can understand (but not necessarily accept) that in order to pander to the general public, Microsoft staff would be compelled to ask the player to change their username. Large corporations that manage large social networks are known to bend to the public sentiments and thus appear at odds with jurisprudence in order to maintain their own brand of "impartiality".
IMO, I think the guy should have changed his name to FlamerGamer
The gay marriage ban in California has been lifted. The California Supreme Court overturned the ban, saying "same-sex couples should be permitted to marry, rejecting state marriage laws as discriminatory."
Redbeadhed, what did a gay person ever do to you? All you people who hate Homosexuals, why do you hate them? Did you know that you have as much choice to be a gay as you have to be a boy or a girl. If you think it's stupid to be homosexual, what if I said it is stupid to be straight?
Being homosexual is natural. The reason people think it's not is because other species don't have the brain capacity to care. Or if they do, they are smart and don't care. I mean seriously, why does anyone care if someone does something different. Saying it's stupid to be Gay is like saying it's stupid to be black. Just pointing that out.
And all you people that say God will send them to hell if they're Homosexual, well, that's Gods business, not yours.
Antolini most people don't like homosexuals because its wrong and disgusting! and no you don't have a choice to be boy or girl unless you are some super sperm and can race to the egg and make a big wish to be boy or girl, but really that will never happen.
you can be gay but its a choice you make not some natural thing to think that its just something wrong in your head.
What I want to say is if being gay is born natural then people who kill others must be born as murderers and should they not be punished for taking lives. because gay people can't reproduce they only can adopt am I right on what I'm saying or not!

You show nothing but hatred. You told me I would burn in hell because I was attracted to the same sex, despite the face that I have never had any sexual contact with the same sex. I am a man, yet I have a girlfriend. She knows I have an attraction to the same sex, yet she and I both know that I would never do anything with a man. Why? Not because godless people like you tell me that I can't. It's because I will never cheat on her. Unlike you, I have morals. I have a conscience. I have feelings and emotions for other humans.
If you think you are a Christian, you are wrong. You are nothing but a godless jerk who judges others. Realize that God will judge you whence you die. When you stand in front of the Lord, will He be pleased that you constantly call people "f.a.g.s."? Will He be pleased that you push gays away from the church? Will He be pleased that you continually spend time denouncing homosexuality, yet spend such little time helping the poor, homeless, and disabled? Think about that. If you can live with yourself now, then you are probably beyond salvation. I pray that you will put away your hatred and walk on the path of love.

A note in mind, what makes you certain that He is a he? Why is is that there is no proof of such a thing. We know we cannot rely on the Bible because its been continuously changing over the years and centuries. I believe there has been around 12 or so true changes to the Bible, and each is, in fact, change by people who saw flaw in the original, however, the things they change are also change and they seem to have made it more and more different and racist + bias.
