I agree that no one stays married anyone, but I cannot see that would ever be implemented. It would change marriage itself. I doubt many people go into a marriage thinking it won't last (a few do). So, making marriage conditionally temporal could have some bad consequences for the relationship, I would think.
On the flip side, many people remain in a marriage when they shouldn't. It would save a lot on divorce rates.
It's funny you bring this up, Flip. My girlfriend and I were thinking that it should be a law that you cannot marry until you are at least 30. If you are with someone you love, you can wait it out until then. You would only have to change the common law marriage requirements.
But on a more serious note, that actually might be more reflective of our, for want of a better term, "natural" behaviors. As you may know, popular science is coming up with a lot of challenges to our monogamous institution...
...which will be one heckuva big change, it will change the entire structure of our social strata. There will no doubt be huge resistance to such a move, but if such a mindset could actually be integrated we could possibly have a rather...different, maybe more community-oriented kind of society. I'm not sure about that last bit.
Either way, we need to clear up the rhetoric about what relationships are and what they entail.
I think people care about homosexuality so much because they're bored and have nothing better to talk about. i mean seriously, is your life any worse because some person 500 miles away gets married to someone of the same sex? we just need to butt out and let gay people do what they feel they should.
wait what do they say when they get married it might go like you may kiss the...guy who recives i'm joking I personally am overjoid that gay marrige is legal in my state I have seen my two friends g.a.y. parents and one random couple get married already and in fourth grade when it was briefly legal I went with my class to see a couple get married.
Who's happy that it is Legal for Homosexuals to get married in California? I think It is a good thing.
I really am! I am glad that California took the initiative on this controversial issue, and was able to overcome unprejudiced and make an educated, fair decision. Its about time someone did that!
Personally, I'm not gay, but I think that gays ahould have the same rights as my fellow people that are straight. I mean, they aren't able to get married just becuse it's someone of the same sex.
No, actually being hateful towards your fellow man and treating them as if they were less than humans for a silly reason is like having a demon inside your body.
