@Xcalibur45 It is Vegas that causes it to be unsafe because people travel there, do something bad and/or stupid, and leave.
And the reason NY is on there is due to the high population (spreads out the evils more). Like if you were in a small community with 9 other people and someone killed someone, the odds of getting murdered are 1 in 10. If the community was of 100 people total and someone killed someone, the odds of getting murdered are 1 in 100.
The first guy said that guns in those areas keep people at a respectful distance from eachother. The second guy who said If everyone has guns then no one is protected believes that those communities would have more violence.
Alaska. Nobody's gonna kill you if you're in an igloo 800 miles from civilization.
Alaska. One of those states where everyone lives very far apart and has guns.
BEARS.
PALIN.
OIL.
The real danger is meth addicts. And drunk drivers.
Palin doesn't really live here anymore... She's also just one person, and the only reason people still care about her is because she makes an entertaining news story. She doesn't actually do anything besides be stupid in public.
Also, many people (like 40 percent of the state) live in Anchorage, which is pretty urban. And therefore has typical urban problems like gangs and moose rampages.
And the people who don't live in Anchorage have to deal with typical village problems, like excessive rates of suicide*, alcoholism, and overdosing while huffing gasoline.
*According to USA today, We have over 23 suicides per 100,000 people per year, the highest in the nation (New York has 6). Woo.
Yeah I agree with aknerd. I think the northwestern states would be the safest. I've never heard Idaho or Oregon mentioned on the news for anything bad happening.
