So I'm pretty sure this is the second year running I've made this thread (not sure though).
So, to all the AG members who hail from the Great White North (or so the world believes) Happy Canada Day!
And for those of you who are less knowledgable about this beloved country of mine *coughs* stereotypical Americans...please feel free to ask questions. OR Google Canada.
Is Canada Day in any way similar to America's Independence Day and if so, how?
Not really. We celebrate our forefather's courage in defeating the British and their tyrannous laws in order to gain our rightful independence. The Canadians celebrate Britain cutting them loose.

Imagine Great Britain as being the parents of the two countries. We (America) celebrate the day we ran away from home. They (Canada) celebrate the day that they were kicked out.

Well, when you look at it, America moved out and kicked Britain out of Their place when they requested they move back (into the realm). As for Canada, Britain simply had no more use for them.

So... America is like the angry parent who wants their 30 year old son to move out, and Canada is like an ageing ******?
