U know a lot of ppl in the USA r racists and its very stupid coz y do ppl judge others accordin 2 their colour,i mean its like treatin a kid differently 2 an adult.So,my question is,do u think im rite?

Well I can't speak for other nations, but the stereotype for blacks in the US comes from the industrial revolution and development of cities, when the much wealthier white population mass migrated to the suburbs leaving the largely uninhabitable inner cities to the poorer population. This resulted in the stereotype that the majority of black people are poor, of course this applied in many cases up until the civil rights revolution. The proliferation of crime in these "ghettos" then creates the they're all gang bangers stereo type. The last one is of course popular culture which results in kids who've been raised in suburbia acting like they grew up in South Central.


In my personal opinion, racism is quite possibly one of the stupidest attitudes on the planet, however it has always existed, and even today there is a slave trade based upon race.

Avorne, inferential racist very much still exists, although people don't seem to view this as proper racism, which further highlights the ignorance of the world.


I know, I know, it's saddening and somewhat sickening to see people say that it's not 'real' racism. I suppose they can't be blamed too much when the media still uses so many racial stereotypes - even if some of them are much more toned down.

Add that to the point that children are exposed to this same media at stages where they accept pretty much anything they see and racism propagates its' self.

The reace tropes reminded me of Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay.

It is. People are very quick to jump up and feed offa the labels and stereotypes given to those with a different race than oneself, however when a different race does something amazing, they don't seem to set on praising them.

It goes for every race though - i mean people argue the whites vs blacks quite a lot, but every race involves racism and that's something people need to understand to progress.

I'm obviously KKK, but organisations like that were founded during times when slaves were emancipated. They believed themselves to be superior because all they had ever known was African-america/creoles being slaves.

The new generation is more unfounded than the original KKK though.
They spread out from their hatred of blacks to include Christians, Jews, pretty much everyone.

That was a very interesting read.


And almost all of the trope pages have examples from different media mediums - you can spend hours and hours just reading through the tropes listed on a trope index. While I'll admit to linking to TVtropes a bit more than is strictly necessary, I'm a little bit addicted to it, as Kyouzou said and I'll repeat and add to - I think it's really quite relevant here as the media is a large presence in the lives of children and people in general and if it serves to enforce stereotypes or racist doctrine then there's no wonder that racism still exists in the wider world.

I'm hoping this was either a typo or sarcasm.

The KKK don't hold enough political clout for me to even consider them a factor any longer. In the information age most politicians won't consider associating with race supremacist groups on the of chance that they're caught, that would be worse then sending photos of your smaller self to girls on twitter then denying it.

Yes it was a very ignorant typo. My bad.

The amount of political leaders involved in the KKK was absurd though. I mean chyeah, they're illegal now, but they previously had the support.

I find it so sickening. I did an American history module last semester and we had to learn the KKKs lynching statistics - literally so disgusting.

Tell me about it, we had to look at some of the stuff in my US History class, there was a point in the early 1900s where they could actually have full on marches in DC and get away with it, that was the point where they began devolving to let's hate everything that isn't American.

If there's ever a time machine, I really want to bring them here and show them a Walmart, just to see their head explode when they see "Made in 'insert random Asian country'." everywhere.

You're Reich about that. Of course, stupid jokes and puns aside, what the Nazi's did was absolutely sickening which is why it really annoys me to see people (people in positions of power no less) even now denying the Holocaust and sometimes outright saying that the Jews deserved it.

What's worse, racism or people who randomly hit the keyboard?

The nazis were on a whole new level than the KKK - that was systematic and precision of racial extermination to the extreme. Lynching statistics can't measure up.
