the world will end but not in 2012 (or you are aware of a comet or asteroid that will hit the planet). Assuming the sun's hydrogenium reserves have been calculated the right way, the earth will be "consumed" by the sun in 4.5 or 5 billion years. This is the ONLY definite prediction for "doomsday".
Since when is venus a mayan deity? Or did you refer to the planet?
venus is the translated name of 1 of their gods. we are unable to type the real name whit the characters we use. and the planet venus is called after this god. not the other way around.
Sorry, but like you said, Venus is a roman deity. I'm sure it's not a mayan one too. Do you have a source you could link me to? I'd really like to look at that further.

Ah. You confused me, I thought you meant that venus was actually a name of one of their gods. Venus is only the planet the mayans attributed to the god Kukulcan if I got it right now. And the name 'venus' has nothing to do with mayans. Here's the wiki article to Kukulcan. Didn't find any mention of the planet though.
