Ok so here it is will the world end or is it just a bunch of junk written by some old Aztecs. I do not think it will end but I would like other peoples input.
This is a friendly place to post your statement no religious battles or anything like that. Thank you.

Why believe a civilization who couldn't survive for 2000 years.

If you believe in God or not, the bible says that no one will know the time and the place when Jesus is coming back.

Please read my post. Jebus said that that "This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." I'm still waiting for a Christian comment.

Why believe a civilization who couldn't survive for 2000 years.

The Mayas didn't say that the world would end in 2012...

The Mayan where a primitive civilization that was easily conquered by the Europeans.

Primitive, yes, but I don't think they were easily conquered.

Especially considering it was more than a single attempt by the Spanish. Montezuma was tricked by Cortéz that he was their returned God because of the powers (Metal and Gunpowder) he had.

But then, if I remember right, an Eagle Warrior (don't be surprised, there was also Jaguar Warriors :P ) incited rebellion against the Spanish, and fighting in Tenochticlan (said to be one of the most beautiful cities, including European ones by a Spanish conquistador / ship crewman). Montezuma died in the uprising, if I remember right.

Also, I also think the Mayans and Aztec had much better agricultural technology in comparison to European powers at the time.

Why believe a civilization who couldn't survive for 2000 years.

Because that's a reason?

And Does Maya calender predict end of the world?

From what I know about the Mayan Calender (without looking at the sources), it is a (possibly overly) complex calender that might exceed that of our own.

Oh, that reminds me.
In the oncoming assaults by the Spanish they did make quite the effort in burning all of the blasphemous work done by the Mayans and Aztecs.
This basically included everything, which is way I'd think the government would hype this up, because there's nothing there to disprove it.

I thought they had 3 different kinds of Calenders which mixed to make a bigger one which supposedly tells the future on that specific day?

Stupid documentary >.>

According to my religion time is divided into 4 diffrent sections of diffrent sizes. Right now we live in the age of kaliyuga.(Dark Ages)Its the forth from all the ages and is about 432,00 years and started (give or take) 6000 years ago. Just spitting som info around...

Remember in may a few months back? As I recall world didn't end, and we did not witness a rapture, and the aftermath was that hundreds of people wasted money and time to something conspired by man. Now multiply the occurrence of that event by 100,000 and that's how bad 2012 will be.

Not only that I believe that the suicide rate in December of 2012 will take a severe rise, but something huge will take place. We will have a new president, new laws will take place, global warming will take some toll, and wide spread media of any thing involving the end of the world will have a large effect.

IMO I do not believe in it, maybe the mayans ran out of room to fill in 2013, hey it's a circular stone with not enough space. Not hard to understand?

There are actually 3 circular stones, one inside the other. And as time went by they would all spin at different speeds, the 3 symbols (1 for each stone) that were aligned determined the date. It was supposed to never repeat itself, but on December 21st 2102 it is calculated that a combination of symbols will show up again. So the calender doesn't really end, it just repeats.

I've said this about 5 pages ago, but people didn't seem to notice.

From Wiki:
Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the day that the calendar will go to the next b'ak'tun.

the b'ak'tun is a time frame of 394.52 solar years (144,000 days). 2012 is round 13 ending and round 14 begining.

Oh, usually I only check the first and the last page so I didn't see it. But yeah, that's pretty much idiot.

Sorry for the double post, but I wasn't paying attention and I wrote "idiot," but it's supposed to be "it."

I think this thread has given enough proof that the world not end on the year 2012. If only we give this proof to everybody who believes in it to stop them from doing anything stupid...
