Ok so here it is will the world end or is it just a bunch of junk written by some old Aztecs. I do not think it will end but I would like other peoples input. This is a friendly place to post your statement no religious battles or anything like that. Thank you.
If, in millions of years, there will be another year 2012, then yes. But not next year, no. I needn't explain why, most of the people here have done this for me. The world will not end on 21st December, 2012.
funny how there are 2 topics about the end of the wolrd at the same time while both are talking about a other doomsday xD we are walking from the 1 into the other and back. and whats up whit the 21th? 21may,21okt,21dec xD
The whole 2012 thing was thought of by some primitive civilization and think about this maybe the mayan calender ended at 2012 because it was never finished.
It will not end in 2012. Think, making a calendar in stone is time consuming and you can't make a nistake with scrrap the rock. we all know that the mayans dissapered around 900 A.D, mabey they never finished inscribing the year 2013.

The Mayans were certainly not primitive for their time!
I'm not hung up on the Mayan calendar's answer to the Y2K bug. If the world ends in 2012, it won't be because of that.
I'd be sorely tempted to book a restaurant or hotel for a big party/to-do on December 21 that year, but that's just asking to be run over and killed by a tofu truck whilst it's still 2011.

No,they weren't primitive for their time but for now. They kind of are. I don't think that a not-as-technological civilization could predict the end of the world and we with all of our machines and stuff wouldn't be able to even make a guess.

I was actually validating the first sentence here. The second, I leave to time to tell. Personally I think it's hogwash.
