Hi everyone! After looking to the Video Games community, I've noticed that there is only seventh generation consoles-related forums (ie: PS3, XBOX360).
By seeing that, I've decided to create a topic about PS2 (that is a sixth generation console), for those people who own one or just like to remember the times that played in it.
Please send replies: everyone would like to hear what you think about the "Old PS2"! Thanks for the attention.
well.. i think sony did a great job with the ps2(considering wat technology was offered at the time :P). they did a good job with many games.... i could have been more accesable(again read last sentence), but like i said before... the bes ps2 game ive evr played was the jak and daxter series... anybody heard of em? jak and daxter: the precursor legacy, jak2, jak3, jak and daxter: combat racing, jak and daxter: the lost fronteir... i thought they were great games.. ive never played jak and daxter: the lost frontier, but im gonna buy it soon for ps3
I thought it was for PSP? But I still play my PS2 and I just borrowed some games from a friend and am currently in China on the first Sly Cooper. I love the PS2. I'm probably going to buy a PS3 soon, hopefully.
I play mine often, because used games for the PS2 are getting cheaper and cheaper. Some games that are considered rare and can go for like $80 online are only $20 maximum in game stores. Especially when buying an entire series, you can buy all of them for the price of one normally-priced game. (Most recent personal example, Xenosaga series for $40 total.) It's a good system with a good library despite being so outdated. And compared to the PS3, well, I'd rather play the PS2. (My dad owns a PS3, this isn't based just on what I've read online.)
It's not necessarily that the PS2 is better, its just that the PS2 is the quintessential console, considering the amount of high-quality titles released for the console, the PS2 probably stands as the ultimate console.
I still play Kingdom Hearts and Burnout and a bunch of other games on the ps2. I use it all the time. (probably not more than I use my armorgames.com, though)
I sadly gave my PS2 and some of the games with it to someone else since I got my Xbox360. Once after I gave it away I got the urge to play one of my PS2 games than I thought to myself "Oh yeah, that's right...".
Still have mine, still play it when an older game tickles my fancy. Still don't have a Ps3, but all the games I give a crap about are on the 360. (Except Killzone, ****it)
