Hi everyone! After looking to the Video Games community, I've noticed that there is only seventh generation consoles-related forums (ie: PS3, XBOX360).
By seeing that, I've decided to create a topic about PS2 (that is a sixth generation console), for those people who own one or just like to remember the times that played in it.
Please send replies: everyone would like to hear what you think about the "Old PS2"! Thanks for the attention.
PS2 had all the hits. Kingdom Hearts, Jak and Daxter, Star Wars Battlefront, Ratchet and Clank, and probably the best, Sly Cooper. Sly Cooper was amazing on the PS2. I like the 360 more than the PS3 but PS2 is better than Xbox. Long live PS2! Oh wait...
I have the PS2 and play a lot (I can't afford a seventh-generation console). I had a PS1 too but it broke. :-(
Anyway, in PS2 my favorite games are: -> Burnout 3 (great racing, good soundtrack and awesome graphics) -> Soul Calibur 3 (WAY better than Tekken: fighting with weapons that range from Katanas to battle Axes) -> Call of Duty series (I only have the 3 but I'm planning to buy the Big Red One soon) -> Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (best game in the "Tony Hawk" series with a great soundtrack) -> The Warriors (beat-em-all: WAY better than Bully) -> God Hand (post-apocalyptic, funny beat-em-all) -> Urban Chaos (the only FPS I've ever saw using a Riot Shield)
Who have a PS2, check this games out. I assure: they are great.
yeah, jak and daxter was the most amazing game on ps2(in my opinion) im gonna buy jak and daxter: the lost frontier for ps3 soon!
jak and daxter is the ultimate in adventure and action gaming.... they are jst really awesome games... and i suggest that u play them in order(if u want to buy them... if ur interested look up the vids of people playing on youtube... u wont be disapointed!!!) 1. jak and daxter: the precursor legacy(3rd fav) 2.jak 2 (2nd fav) 3. jak 3(the ultimate in the series) 4.jak and daxter: the lost frontier (havent played it yet but im gonna buy it.... for ps3 and ps2 and psp extra: jak and daxter: combat racing (it was fun-ish... for the racing type of person) hope this helped!
Jak and Daxter is something I plan to look for the next time I get some money. I hear a lot of good things about the main games, and they shouldn't cost too much at Gamestop by now. Does anyone know the average in-store cost of them used? (Not asking anyone to go out of their way and Google it or anything, just wondering if anyone's been in a store lately and happened to see it.)
The good old PS2, that were times in my life. I still own one, I don't play it though, but it's good to have one xD I liked Splinter Cell on the PS2 alot and when I bought it I always bothered my mum to co-op with me, yea that were good old times xD My most favorite part about having a ps2 was collecting alot of demo discs, so much that I barely can store them, but they offer alot of games and are very nice sometimes. My most favorite games were Jak and Daxter, Splinter Cell and that game with Sly Cooper with that comic graphics and looting other people (or animals xD) but what is kind of bad about the ps2 are their controllers. I have collected about 9 or 10 controllers over time and only 1 works perfectly now. Considering that I still own one and the same controller for the XBox 360 for mor than a year.

I bought a Splinter Cell a few months ago but the CD was broken and it didn't worked. I always bothered my mother with videogames too! One time I tried to teach her how to drive in GTA: Vice City: she went to the Washington Mall (The one in Vice Beach that is in front of a Hospital), stole a blue Hermes and ran over a cop... that was really funny.

The PS2 controllers are too fragile, indeed: I had several controllers (about 15) and only one works perfectly. The others ended up with ruined "R1/L1/L2/R2" buttons and thrashed annalogic buttons (those "dualshock" thingys that vibrate in some games). This happens even if I buy the quality controllers (that cost up to U$ 30!!). The best controller I've ever had worked by almost 2 years and then broke

I have four broken PS2 controllers, and three that work. Two of the working ones were PS1 controllers that I use for the PS2, though the first original ones of those is starting to strip at the base of the wire. (PS1 controllers work great, even L3/R3 work, and PS1 didn't use those.)
im pretty sure the jak and daxter series is about 15-20 $ each game... a lil bit lower for the older ones.... but its a lil bit more expensive because of the graphics and gameplay... trust me, u wont be disapointed

Thanks for that, was about what I guessed. Sounds about what I paid for some other games in a similar style, so along with the opinions here, should be worth the money. And absolute worst case, I've lost more money on games I've regretted after buying them full price.
