The oil resources around the world are fastly depleting. The sources of oil that are there are very hard to get and refine. So should we continue to use oil as our main resource or should we find alternative energy.

Bottom line question: Can the world withstand pollution until the oil run out?

(I don't think so, at least)

Of course it can, the pollution isn't even close too the "danger level" Right now we are like 10% of the way to being in danger of pollution. By that I mean the earth's average, not one specific location.

Uh... if it is just like the other users said, that the oil will not end during our lifetime, the world can not withstand so much pollution. And, if we're 10% near from danger, why won't backing down a little to avoid reaching the 100%? Maybe it will be too late.

I ain't talking about massive, right now change to eco-friendly stuff. I mean at least some research and less worries about MONEH!

People are researching but haven't found any practical solution yet, and you have to worry about money. One bad move and it could be the great depression all over again.

why not? if we are able to do it then we should atleast try. not aaying we will change it latter. the sooner it's changed the better.
green energy is just like any other product on the market. the more there is the cheaper it gets. we just have to make the start and not waiting around for it to poof! happen.

why not?

Mostly because OPEC has a lot of influence. They don't want to be replaced or abolished.

but that can be the reason for people that are not involved in OPEC to say that we should not change. i know that companys like shell pays of invetors of new green motors for cars whit a few million.
they did so whit some guy from a tv show here in the netherlands (tv show was "best idea of the netherlands" where people can show there new invention in hope to catch the eye of a producer) he had a motor that runned 100% on unfilterd waste oil from kitchens and such. will see if i can find what he invented exactly.

Uh... we just have to be sure that no blood will be poured and no general blackouts would happen. If we need to wait a few years for green fuels/energy, fine. More research then and less probability of having a Nuke being thrown on us. :P
