This just in, PETA wants to basically remove the word "fish" and replace with "seakittens" because apparently fish will be harder to eat if everyone is calling them "seakittens".
I'm proud to call myself a carnivore and a member of People for the Eating of Tasty Animals, and one of my favorite meals is elongated dimensional seakitten (fish sticks, for all of you who proudly dominate the food chain) and Kraft macaroni+cheese. You can add "fish" and "meat" to the list of things they'll pry from my cold, dead hands.
Stop people eating fish? What idiot came up with that? Oh, good acronym translation Paladin. I like fish! Save some endangered animal, not some underwater creature that multiplies fast.
Actually, SeaKittens make them sound like some delicacy, dang it! Now I want fish! stupid thread, if it hadn't... (degenerates into Halt-like muttering)
When will PETA learn that humans are OMNIVORES? As in, we eat meat too. I've always had a funny thought in my mind that's similar to how anti-gay government officials are closet gays, so the vegans at PETA go to Wendy's when no one is looking and order Baconators.
Just imagine this thing in plush form! Imagine the comfort your kids will derive from it!
Really. A stupid idea. Wait, how do you pronounce "Klttens"? I am kind of thinking something like "Kilt ens", which doesn't really sound delicious but I don't see how that would help. In fact, I don't see why people eating fish is a problem. I don't like eating fish much myself with the exception of shellfish. What exactly is wrong with it?
They don't want you eating animals at all. This is their argument for not eating fish... b/c the category of fish still falls under the broader term "animal."
Tigers eat meat. We should too. You get more energy off it, because what you eat will have eaten something else, which will work off at about 1 1/2 energy, as opposed to worthless one. Also, meat tastes better. And I feel no pity towards something that is beneath us. Why pity bulls? They're better on a plate then licking someones hand.
as I see it, people would eventually be desensitized to the name. It would be commonplace and lose its effect. People would then cause a fuss about how the name sea kitten is either offensive or how it enables people to eat them too much...
People eventually become desensitized to most words. And, besides this, I like kittens and seafood so combining the two is just great! PETA you crazy! This just reinforces my behavior. I love fish. I am a human and therefore an omnivore. I'm not going to stop eating it just because some crazy animal activist possibly vegetarian or vegan person feels bad about killing things for food. That's like telling a cat to NOT eat the food sitting on the table, it's still going to happen no matter what you do. (I do believe this was on AdultSwim, as one of their intermissions.)
