If you want to become a street side vendor, you must first get a permit which costs money and are often in limited supply. The reason behind this is because businesses are corrupt and must be limited by the government and permits help protect consumers and don't harm innocent people in any way what-so-ever. At least... that's what you're going to hear from advocates who support vending licenses.
But let's suppose we allow people to sell food from vending carts and stands on the side of the street. What could we expect to see? For one, children wont be shut down by police officers.
The one and only thing that perfectly illustrates just how I feel about this is...

Really? People have been selling things on the street for thousands of years, how many times have you heard of a local 10 year old poisoning his lemonade? For that matter, how often have you heard of -anything- being sold street side that was dangerous (Other than drugs anyways...)
This law is a load of crap. If you see a street side vendor and you aren't willing to trust that the lemonade/whatever isn't poisoned/has a bomb in it, then you won't buy it. The idea of getting a permit is stupid and pointlessly steals people's money. It sounds depressing to think we're outlawing lemonade stands.
Well you have to take in mind that when the idio- I mean government made this law, there has probably been a problem in the past of some type of poison in lemonade sold on the street. It doesn't have to be on purpose, you can still get sued for negligence.
But still, it's a waste of time. Does the government really not have anything better to do than arrest people selling lemonade?
"OH MY GOSH THAT LEMONADE KEG LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A POISON IN IT, ARREST THEM ALL! That's what terrorists get when they try to disguise themselves as regular citizens, acting all harmless. They think they can fool us! Ha!"
Where I live, you need a vending license. Guess what, they aren't giving any away. If you want one, you have to pay big bucks.
My options are limited. I can either go to a fast food restaurant, or I can go to a regular restaurant. It would be so much easier if I could just stop and pick up a hot dog or gyro from a street vendor. There would be much more variety!
America is not a free country. Corporations have taken over by bribing our politicians to pass stupid licensing laws.
I would think it's would be pretty clear even with a vending permit law that the law was not intended to be used in such a way. I can only assume the cops who shut them down were either idiots or they got a complaint from some suffering from an cranial lodgement within there **** cavity.
thats because the big buisness men controll the market and if someone sells food or something else they (the buisness men) fear that they get not so much money. so, if a land is controlled by buisness men there laws like that one with the lemonade. the corrupted police arrest them then if they have not an expensive permit. so, if you get arrested or have this permit, the big buisness men get money.
"Breaking the LAW???" That friggin' law sucks, lady. "Free country" definitely doesn't describe what's going on. I think the police should spend their time busting drug dealers, not children from lemonade stands. Really??? Not only will this incident probably change the kids' point of view on police, but make the police look bad and idiotic. It's a lose-lose. The police were doing their job, yeah, but was their job doing what it should be?
Sure, there could have been a possibility of poison, but I think that the police should spend their time doing better things.
It's terrible that big companies got the government to make this law. It's really obvious too that it's companies and not the government. Because if it was the government then there wouldn't be a monthly fee. The most the government should have done was a small one time fee. But the big companies are afraid that the bussniess will grow and that others will want to join them.
