i think it is even because:

Mario Pros: great to interact with on da Wii
Mario Cons: games take too long to come out

Pokemon Pros: some games have an exciting storyline
Pokemon Cons: once 1st story is beaten, you get real bored.

But, it is up to you guys to decide:
Which Is Better: Pokemon or Mario!

Here is what I posted on another thread about Pokemon, outlining my complaints for the series. not all of them are actually gameplay-based, but it was easier to copy the whole thing rather than pieces.

Anyways, I like Pokemon better, but they should really stop making new regions with new pokemon, I think that they should branch out in the actual game types instead of the same games with new pokemon.
I mean, Scraggy? Woobat? They're getting desperate. Even the 2 legendary Pokemon from Black and White look like they are
re-colored versions of the legendary Pokemon from Diamond and Pearl. They are even Dragons, just like the last 2!

Pokemon is better, but at least Digimon knew where to stop.

Adding on to what I said earlier, am I the only one who notices a problem with the pokemon world?

1. in order to catch a fish, you have to catch it with a fishing rod, then battle it into submission, and then capture it in a magic containment ball.

2. Pokemon are supposed to be treated as companions and friends, right? the people get mad whenever someone tries to hurt one. But if pokemon are like animals, how do the people get meat? are they all vegetarians? or is it all meat substitution (or soilent green)?

So yeah, basically all of the pokemon games are the same, it gets boring once you beat the elite four (or five), and the pokemon themselves are starting to get lame and repetitive.

Mario is definitely better, the game styles are usually the same, but there is always new features and variety popping up all over the place.

I don't think there's a Pokemon game that can really compare to Super Mario 64. The Stadium games are fun, but I'd rather throw Bowser into giant bombs any day.

or is it all meat substitution

Personally, in the realm of pokemon games, I like the pokemon Ranger series more than the actual pokemon color versions.
Partially because I like the variety of gaming experience, and partially because I am simple minded and like to draw circles.

For Mario games, I really like Paper Mario, Mario Party (all of them), and Super Mario Sunshine.

Mario still wins because of game variety, plus better villains. (in pokemon, half of the villains look like girls. Guess which half? that's right, the half that AREN'T girls.) Mario has Bowser. one of the best villains ever.

Mario is much better. I never even really got into Pokemon.

Agreed, Mario 64 is nearly unbeatable. Its a classic among classics. The entire franchise as a whole is just great.

The Mario parties started out very well, but after the fourth one, the fun started to slide for me. :/

I'm not sure how you can compare Mario and the Pokemon series, seeing as how they cover different genres of games. Although Mario has pretty much covered nearly every genre a gamer can think of. Except Tower Defense, Real Time Strategy, and Hero Defense. Hey Nintendo, don't do this by the way, mmk?

With the topic at hand, I love Mario's older games. Nothing can beat Super Mario World, no matter how hard they try. Super Mario 3 is close-but-no-cigar'ish.

I could not agree more.

I would pick Mario because pokémon is always the same thing fight the bad guys, get master ball, catch the main legendary, and fight the league of four.

Very true.

Out of likeability rather than a comparison, i'd choose Mario. I believe the game series has a lot more to offer.

Yeah, what Frank said. Don't do TD Nintendo. DON'T! And btw, personally, I like Mario more. But look at it in real life.

Mario= Fat Italian Guy with a mustache stomping on mushrooms and turtles. (WEIRD) Though Bowser (Komodo Dragon) would be a challenge.

Pokemon= A nostalgic-looking kid who brings a large multi-coloured M&M which turns into a rat.

So. I pick.... Pac-Man!

(Real answer: Mario. I love italian plumbers!)

Don't know how they're similar. Mario is a classic, but I've always loved Pokemon, so I guess I'd have to go with that.

That's a case of serious CC, i.e. can't compare.

You said something about pokemon being boring once the main story is finished; don't go saying that to a breeder pal. My main goal in pokemon games nowadays is to optimize my team's potential.

the mario games...they were fun, but the pokemon
games were amazing. So pokemon.

I'd say Mario is the best since I prefer platform games over RPG's. Plus I haven't played a Pokemon game that much if ever

Both the games r great at what try were made for. I enjoy the ability to capture the pokemon and elslave them to do my bidding! but mario's games r just amazing. They r so simple but there so cool at te same time
Each of the series have Colleen characters too. From Mario, I like Fawfull, paratroopa and yoshi. From pokemon, I like typlosion, empolion and lugia. I don't play there new racist games though... The changed too much too fast
So the games r equal to me

Mario is a classic (but fun), and I think it's better than Pokemon because it has more versions, such as Super Mario Bros.. (NES), Super Mario World (SNES) and Super Mario Galaxy (Wii).
