explain what you mean by future weapon?

Lightsaber, it can cut through anything.

Energy sword. It looks more awesome then Lightsaber.
Or maybe a plasma gun or the Halo Needler.

Automatic sniper with no kick. That would be epic. Or double sided light saber

Telepathic mind control. Use your foes instead of wasting such useful ressources *evil laughter*

Isn't this question a bit weird? I mean you could say basically anything..

A handheld gun that miraculously incorporates a machine gun, a flame thrower, a sniper. Pretty much all good weapons combined into a handheld.

A grenade that sends a pulse wave to immediently kill everyone within a certain distance. Like you'll be able to type in how far it does it.

I agree with GhostOfMatrix. I even watched a program once where a scientist designed a Lightsabre that would work. But needs future tech.
My dreams of becoming Luke are getting nearer.

The best would be the most basic(In the future that is). The laser. Fast and Deadly, the attributes that every weapon wants.

Lightsabers: beautifully simple, yet oh so deadly.

If I had jedi power, It would be a light saber. If not, the best would be the death ray on the death star. Of course, this is all based on Star Wars. I am sure you could come up with some better weapons.
