I've seen lots of "ask a" things so I thought I would make one for me and my fellow Non-Diety believers

FAQ

Does being an atheist mean you don't eat meat?

No, atheist eat meat....

Will you answer my questions?

I can't say I didn't see this coming...

I already sent Freakenstein a PM asking if he would make a "Religion FAQ" thread, since all these, "Ask a whatever" keep coming, and more will surely follow because people just love to copy others...

Really, do we need a "Ask a whatever" for every religion? Because if we covered only the more popular religions, we'd have all 5 of the first pages covered pretty much, if every religion, 7000 new topics, not counting sub branches of each....

Believe me, i'm quite aware of that.

However, it's also kind of ignorant of you to do an "Ask an Atheist" thread because of how broad a term is. It's almost like "Ask a guy" or "Ask a person" because there ARE religions that are Atheistic. Buddhisim is one major one that is. Are you a Buddhist? From your posts i'd say not. So when someone asks you what the tenants of Buddhism are, can you really answer that? Then we get a "Ask a Buddhist" thread. And it goes on and on.

Ask An Atheist!

Q: Do you believe in any deity?

A: No.

/endthread

What is there more to say? There's really no more common points between two atheists than that one. Each other Q&A would be about your own person, which doesn't have anything to do in this thread.

I think there have been some informative things in these. They have also covered a good number of misconceptions and helped further better understanding of those religions. I'm not sure if a generalized section for this would be as effective.

There is why I didn't start one of these myself. I suppose we could expand it to secular atheism to give this a bit more focus.

Yeah, I don't see why this will work out.
HahiHa's Q&A pretty much did the entire thread it.
We can't really ask about 'beliefs/traditions'.

I don't know if any of you will remember this but talk radio host Tom Leykis used to do a segment called "Ask an Atheist."

It's been done.

LULZ

This is the best "Ask a.." thread simply for this.

Why would diet have anything to do with not believing in God?

I eat meat, does that mean i have to drop my religious beliefs and declare myself Atheist?

Q: Do you believe in any deity?

A: No.

There are vegetarian atheists I guess but honestly...
I don't see the point of this thread. HahiHa summed it up pretty well.
I mean, what questions would a person have for an atheist concerning their atheism? The only thing atheists have in common is that they don't believe in any religion(I'm defining atheists, here, as people who have no religion, not people who don't believe in a God, because there are religions that do not have gods/God).

I suppose people could have question about the gnostic/agnostic portion that some people tend to use, I remember a thread about that a while back actually.

Atheism is a lack of belief in a deity, how does this apply to supposedly cosmic forces such as karma?

See, question, not that hard. I expect an answer to that by the way.

To Atheism in general, it does not. Atheism is just not having a belief in a deity. End story. You can have religious Atheists that believe in Karma.

Yes, but there is no blanket belief for any one atheist. You could get twelve different answers to that question, and they'd all be the correct answer from an atheist. It's very diverse in its different views and that is why a thread such as this one is pointless.

I believe the term would be spiritual, no? Let's try to be PC, else we'll start getting confused.

Ah, but its foundations are singular: There are no deities. Regardless of individual interpretation I was asking on a technical basis, so answer the question if you would.
