it's like a real war
I must be reading this wrong. I'm sorry, but you must be using a hyperbole, because no body would actually make that comparison.
I think its allright. Besides the fact that the demo is 2.5GB on my console, I don't really hate any one part. The only think I absolutely love is the graphics/animations. It by far surpasses MW2 in every aspect, and the voices actually sound from a radio, rather than a guy yelling in your ear.
What really gets me is just how totally, unacceptably, irrevocably un-user friendly it is. I played a match, and ran around trying to figure out how to knife, crouch, go prone, throw a grenade, etc, etc. So I quit, when to the menu, and went to 'options'. All I found was a slider to change from 'classic', to 'lefty', and 'reverse', and 'reverse lefty', but NO FREAKING MENTION OF WHAT ANY OF THE BUTTONS DID. CoD has a ***visual aid*** for what the controls are, and what the switches do. Quite frankly, it shouldn't take me 5 minutes of tinkering to figure out what everything does. It really shouldnt. And the sheer multitude of symbols makes it rather confusing to play the game. Why do some teammates have blue names, but others have green names? What are the blue dots on the minimap? The red dots? Why can't I hardly even see the minimap; its too small, and too opaque! It really takes away from the game, because no where could I find anything that explained what anything did.
I also thought the gameplay was allright. (Atleast on Operation: Metro) There doesn't seem to be to much of a diffrenct between the tints used for grass, rocks, and actual people. So its rather hard to actually see where anybody is. So I ended up going 1-32, 3-28, 4-18, 1-38, and 1-34 in my first five games. While I didn't know the map, it seems that too many people just hide out around where the defensive spawn is, and kill people as they spawn. I got spawn killed far more in BF then I ever did in CoD. While shooting a gun is fairly straight forward, switching to other classes is a pain. Even worse is trying to put attachments onto a gun, and figuring out where your new shotgun goes. Is it an engineer, or an assault weapon? How do I even find it?
Yes, I've played CoD for awhile (out of habit I kept pressing the LB expecting a grenade, and getting a knife instead), but it really beats BF in two aspects: ease of play, and versatility. In MW2, I've currently got 8 classes; 3 Assault Rifles, 2 SMGs, 2 LMGs, and 2 Snipers. So I can go from my 'Hard Sniper', with a Barret .50 and FMJ, to a 'Light Recon', with a M21 and Marathon. I can go from being a ghost with Coldblooded and a Silenced Uzi, to a suppressor with the Vector and Rapid Fire, to a Support gunner with the RPD and extended mags. Its as easy as hitting a button, another button, and then taking your pick. ANd it doesn't take more than 30 seconds. It allows for a broader level of gameplay, as I have more options avaliable to me. I found that taking the scope of a sniper rifle in BF gave me a high-powered gun that was good at medium range. But then the focus changed, and I needed a high powered scope... which I didn't have anymore. So I felt really confined in my gameplay.
I'll just stick to CoD; it gives me a major headache, rather than a compound migrain. :/
