Just like the title says, What do you look for in a video game, plz give a reason why you look for this element and dont do "cause it makes it fun", do WHY it makes it more fun for you.

The most important things for me are good gameplay, enough content and the feeling of making progress. Good gameplay is the most important thing, because I don't really care about graphics or stuff like that very much. They can help crate the game's atmosphere. A game that looks and sounds amazing but has boring gameplay is a lot worse than a game with bad graphics but great gameplay.

The amount of content is quite important too. I hate it when in some games the campaign only takes way under ten hours to complete. Maybe it's because a lot of games focus on multiplayer these days.

I love games that give you the feeling that you are making progress all the time. It's awesome to unlock new stuff, learn new things and level up. It motivates you to keep playing and make even more progress.

The story behind the game. Kinda like any RPG game is like. customized characters, lvl up, and there is a plot behind the story why our adventurers have to go save the world.

I like anything that is a good mix of plot, RPG elements, and something that is challenging, but not beyond impossible.

I also like a lot if the game can be played on multiplayer or at least with a friend on a 2 Player Mode.

When it comes to shooter games, I like that it has multiplayer and that the gameplay of the campaign is done in a original and entertaining way.

pwning noobs and taking names in multiplayer. For singleplayer, since it's oh so easy, sniper missions with wind and make it be realistic on the other missions explosions and ally sacrifces (also realistic)<and all that is for fps games

For me these are the 1o things in a good video or computer or flash game......
1. graphics and art
2. good storyline
3. Music and audio
4. good rating and supporting comments to improve the game
5. maybe adventure mode, and then have some multiplayer
6. for submit score, like how fast or combos
7. good title and intro to make the game more appealing
8. credits
9. epicness
10. If it was a stunt game, replay button

Although there are many things that make a game "appealing" and other positive characteristics, I feel that a game needs to have 3 main points
1: The game must be expansive and incorporate many different methods of gaming such as a combinations of games such as rpg and fps or turn by turn gaming and economic perspectives.
2:A game must pursue the attention of at least one target group of audience such as towards certain age groups
3: The game must have a long story or large broad theme to play around and build around.
Thanks for considering my comment

When I play a video game, I look for many things. First: I look for the length of the game. I like really long games. I don't want a game that will take me 1 hour to complete. Second: I look for a challenging game. I want a challenge when I play the game, but I don't want it too terribly hard. Third: I look for graphics. I really like the look of the first video games. I also like 3-D graphics. Those are pretty nice. Fourth: I look for an interesting story line. I want something that grabs a hold of me and shakes me and doesn't let me go. Fifth and lastly: I look for music. When I play a game, I want the music to go along with the game play. When the game intensifies, the music cresendoes and intensifies. Those five main things are what I look for in a video game.

Portal is a two-hour long game and is considered by many to be the superior of Bioshock, Halo 3, Modern Warfare Classic, and Mass Effect, all games that released in the same year that had MUCH more hours of gameplay included.

Second: I look for a challenging game. I want a challenge when I play the game, but I don't want it too terribly hard.

Genius Games Yoshi8521 will not like: Ninja Gaiden 2, Catherine, Demon's Souls/Dark Souls, the aforementioned Portal and its sequels

Third: I look for graphics.

Graphics are a way for developers to reel one in and try to cash in a crap product by just putting a few bells and whistles on it. Graphics has NOTHING to do with actual gameplay, the total feel and mood of the game is captured with the aesthetics, the colors and textures used for crafting the world the game is set in.

Fourth: I look for an interesting story line. I want something that grabs a hold of me and shakes me and doesn't let me go.

Now that's the first sane thing you've typed, but games like Borderlands are still fantastic, despite having an absolutely crap, or nonexistent story.

Fifth and lastly: I look for music. When I play a game, I want the music to go along with the game play. When the game intensifies, the music cresendoes and intensifies.

Now that's the 1.5th sane thing you've said. Music is a lot like graphics, it's not necessary, but it's a step above graphics, being able to convey mood and tone in any given setting. Is it entirely important? No, games like the ever-mentioned Portal have little to no music (save that last song) and can still blow away others who base their entire game on the premise of just that, music (see the crap Guitar Hero games).

A very interactive game with action, a good storyline, and a touch of mystery. No shooters. I hate shooters. I could care less about graphics...

Most shooters have the best storyline. MW Series is more like a movie than a game for me...

I just don't like the shooters because I'm not into war and all that. I'm into fantasy stuff. Stuff that couldn't happen. CoD stuff COULD happen, but it's most likely not. Skyrim, Portal, etc, COULDN'T happen. (although Portal could happen in the future years)
