Just like the title says, What do you look for in a video game, plz give a reason why you look for this element and dont do "cause it makes it fun", do WHY it makes it more fun for you.

Even as the Technology advances VERY VERY FAST, Portals is still VERY FAR...know that. First of all, that's a time travel, and secondly, a teleportation, and not even one of those things is discovered, invented, or proven.

Shortly, for Portals, wait until year 2050 minimum.

Well my favourite type of games would be a massive, free-roam, open-world fantasy/RPG game, such as Oblivion,Skyrim,Fallout, etc.

I don't really care too much for graphics, but come on, they at least need to be half-decent.

I like a good storyline, too. If the entire game revolves around it, such as GTA, Assassin's Creed, etc, then it needs to be quite long. I'll give Revelations the benefit of the doubt, though, since it's the perfect way to end Ezio's awesome legacy. And AC is epic. But, like games such as Skyrim&Fallout, if there are many, many quests and such, I don't mind a shorter main story, but it has to have some length I guess, and be interesting.

I don't mind much for music, either, but if there's like, an epic, legendary, historical moment, then, like in a film, it definitely needs some relevant music to add to the epicness, a lot.

I also prefer swords/shields/bows/maces/axes/spears/magic, so preferably medieval, although some of my favourite games are modern-day, or in the future, such as CoD, Fallout, GTA.

And finally, character creation, complete character creation, be what you wanna be, the best type of game.

I look for a bunch of things but I mainly look for good and exciting gameplay. Graphics mean alot too, I mean we're in the 21st century, but you can have amazing graphics but terribly boring gameplay and that makes a bad game. GAMEPLAY IS MY #1 feel for games.

the two main things I look for in games r a good story 'cause it helps me get more into the game and puzzles 'cause I just love working my brain on them, with those though I still need some action 'cause I get bored rather easily.

Gameplay first, and then it's either a good story or multiplayer.

Creativity is the most important part, it's show me if the designers were inspired when they made the game

For me its all about the story line.

So, let's say all you were given was an interactive storybook with an incredibly compelling story, and you'd call it the greatest video game ever?

Sorry, but for it to be a "Game", there must be some wondrous and innovative gameplay to back up the great story, a la Portal.

I enjoy games that aren't just going from mission to mission. I enjoy games that allow me to do what I want, when I want. I also like being able to change the difficulty of a game at any time. I want a game to be realistic enough that it isn't outrageous but have some elements of fiction.
