K, so, this is a general discussion where people share tips about surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. The only requirements here are to remember how far the nearest weapon/grocery store is, or how populated the place you live in is. The larger the spot, the more the zombies. So, you can discuss your basic plan about how to survive, but first, ask yourself some questions, like: 1: What kind of resources do I have? 2: What kind of weapons are available to me now? 2: Where will I go? Tell about what your main weapon would be (it doesn't have to be a gun), or where you'll go, or if you can improvise. My main weapons would have to be a shotgun (easy handling, can take out numerous zombies in one shot) or a rifle, and my melee weapon would be a crowbar or an axe, and secondary would be a kitchen or jack knife.
its very simple.. go to a island where no one lives. the zombs are unable to reach you because they cant swim! on that island you can fish. farm. filter water. and guys remember ZOMBIES are stupid! and guys.. zombies are just a rumor. they dont exist and will never exist.
uh for me its easy !! ill pick up a bag fill it with a little cloth a little medicine a little food an knife we have a collection of them !!! (not combat kitchen ones)after that ill put the bag or some other bags like this in the car then ill pick my family and move on to kian centure or proma ...(2 of the biggest markets in out city)(mashad - iran) any ways in there if infected we will get the hell out of there will go to hunting gun store and pick ammo and guns ... (cause you know in iran real guns are forbiden for selling !!) than ill take my family to a army base ... if fail again ... we go to gas station pick as much as can then go to tehran (capital of iran) try to find some of our family pick them and go to eivan (a small city near ilam a state of iran) and make a shelter with our surviving family ... if cant pick some more gas go to the nearest port city like north and cath a boat and stay in the sea ... cath fish for food drink water from sea of cource each 1 month or less we come on the ground and try to find the things we need in different cities !

Obviously the safe thins to do is first ad foremost : Find a safe place somewhere that only has one entrance multiple locks and is easy to defend like a prison. Prisons have multiple chambers or cells to start a new city as homes. Also if finding survivors to have in your city there are searchlights on the outside which are very useful. Another thing useful would be the yard or courtyard of he prison which could be converted into a farm. I would Dig wells for water. The next thing to be done would probably be finding transportation and raiding the nearest city for extra resources such as guns and oil for cars. The Crops such as corn and wheat would be grown outside and potatoes and beets would be grown inside because they require no sun.
First, within the first few days of a zombie outbreak, nearly all the officers will leave to take care of their own families. This job doesn't come with enough pay for us to stick around during ZPaw. The officers who don't have a family may stick it out for a few days, but once the inmates start rioting in their cells because they aren't getting food, those officers are likely to band together and drive off in a State issued van with some of the better toys from the armory and the last of the food before it gets too bad and head for safer territory.
Second, as scary as it sounds, many inmates know how to get out of their cell if they REALLY had too. Maximum security inmates are locked down 23 hours a day, so they don't get to go to a "chow hall", we have to feed them through a special "ie flap" in their cell door. We have a count time when an officer comes around and counts each inmate individually every couple hours. The first time one or two shifts go by and the inmates don't see any officers or get fed... They're coming out of those cells. The inmates would be in control of the prison in a matter of hours.
Third, other than physical security (fences, thick walls, sturdy doors) prisons don't really offer many resources. In the old days, they grew their own food and were kind of like a self contained city. These days, food services are contracted out and we only have about three days of food stored up. We have an emergency supply for another three days, and after that, all the food is gone. There are plenty of weapons in the armory, and many vehicles, but unless you know where to look for the keys and how to get in, that won't do you much good. If you could get into the infirmary, you might find some good first aid supplies and maybe some medications that would be helpful, but again, unless you have experience with prisons, it would be nearly impossible to know how to access all that stuff.
So if you show up after the outbreak, at best you'll find an empty shell of a facility that has been picked over and devoid of food and most supplies with housing units full of cells with dead or dying inmates in them. At worst, you'll be car jacked at the gate by whatever gang has taken the prison as it's territory.
i would have a tank + assault rifles. tank to run them over. assault rifles to protect me while i refill for gas.

They can float. Zombies that fall into the ocean will eventually make their way to your island. By the way, getting to a deserted island isn't easy. It would take at least a few days to get there, and if you go alone you wouldn't get any sleep unless you're willing to take the risk of zombies getting to your boat.
Uhh okay, so I'm assuming these aren't weapons that appear out of thin air, and you have to able to possess them other than finding them out of pure luck.
I don't know why I need to know where the nearest weapon/grocery store is because I wouldn't even dare go there. The population of my suburb is over 6000, and I live 9 miles away from the city of Perth, which contains over 1.7 million. So I guess I have quite a lot of zombies to deal with, but not too many.
1: What kind of resources do I have? Enough food to last about two weeks, a large old house almost completely surrounded by a fence. Other than that I suppose everything else is average.
2: What kind of weapons are available to me now? 27cm long kitchen knife. Crowbar. Survival Knife. 3: Where will I go? I'm assuming my suburb isn't the first to be hit by the infection, I assume Perth is the first to be hit. I prepare my house and don't try to escape, I would only be caught up in traffic jams and other desperate drivers could easily have accidents. I quietly hole up in my house which I have now barricaded and secured. I wait 4 days once the undead start to pour through the streets. After those 4 days things have quietened down. The military come in and sweep the area and rescue me.
I know what anyone reading this is probably thinking, what if the military don't come!? Well that's the problem with all these plans. Not everything will go to plan. There will be accidents. Perphaps the city could of been nuked, maybe my house was raided by desperate looters and I get shot. Maybe the zombies randomly smash in my house and find me even know I had tried to be quiet. Maybe the military control the infection and it doesn't go further then a few city blocks and it's all over in a few days.
The zombie apocalypse will be incredibly unpredictable if it ever happens. That's why most of these plans probably will not be used in the end, I suggest having a small plan but not to plan what it would be like years after the infection and what you would be doing. Maybe just plan the first few days and improvise the rest.
Also, the OP didn't even tell us what kind of zombies we are dealing with, slow zombies, fast zombies, flying zombies, zombies with red laser beams coming out of there eyes.
