well u see hahiha, were i live, they would probably kill me if i became atheist. that's why i find it pretty hard to understand how you guys easily change your religion easily like changing clothes. i mean, ive don way too much in the name of my religion to just change it, but im starting to get how atheist are usually more logical than religious people.

so, at least i can say that atheist deserve to be respected

And you don't see a problem with that religion??? If you SERIOUSLY would get killed for just changing what you believe, that religion is violent.

Not quite, it just means the community he's in is fundamentalistic. But people of the same religion elsewhere don't necessarily have to be violent.

True, but this isn't an uncommon thing with Islam. At the very least people are generally ostracised if they stop being a muslim.

i believe that Christianity is the correct religon, but thats my honest opinion. I like Jewish people, and those that truly believe in God, but i think that Christianity is the best way to go if you are choosing a religon

What's so great about Christianity? And what, honestly, distinguishes it from any other religion?

You can't determine a correct religion, none of them state the truth, and mostly none make any sense whatsoever.

Atheism is classed as a religion, so what you're saying is rather contradictory to your self.

Also what you're saying sensanaty is religion is wrong if you take what Holy books say literally, what if you take it liberally? Learning from religion. You can't justify religion on what is written but how it is interpreted.

Funny how you say that followers of Islam would be violent and exclude converters from Islam. Maybe you're stereotyping a bit there my friend.

Tell me where atheism is classed as a religion pretty please? There are a few religious atheists, like bhuddists, but atheism can't be classed in anything, since it unites a big variety of different state of minds

Yeah, but this depends entirely on the person interpreting it, which confirms me once again in believing that every religious person on the planet has it's own personal religion. But then it gets hard to say anything about religions...

It is the most prominent faith in the World. That said there was probably some force conversion.

Atheism is a religion - q=ostracised&ampf=p&sclient=psy-ab&source=hp&ampbx=1&oq=Is+ath&aq=0&aqi=g4&aql=f&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=2b570f38414253df&biw=1440&bih=799">read the paragraph under the Google tool bar

And if you're wondering the ideal religion is where a man looks at all the Holy books and what people say and says 'you know what, I'm going to ignore and make my own decisions about life'

Maybe the wiki article on religion will give you a better understanding of the matter. Especially interesting is this phrase:

The word religion is sometimes used interchangeably with faith or belief system, but religion differs from private belief in that it has a public aspect.

The only thing that is common to all atheists is the lack of belief in a deity. Everything else can be radically different from person to person. Therefore I can't understand how someone can assert that it is a religion, it makes no sense.
Anyway the link you show starts by quoting a phrase that says that atheists &quotroposes positive belief rather than mere suspension of disbelief.â. And this is wrong already.

Atheism is the belief that there is no God and the faith in science.

Everything else can be radically different from person to person.

That could be said for any religion.

Not quite. Drop the second part and re-word the first.

"Atheism is not having a belief in a god or deity"

The first way you have it implies that there is a God/deities and that atheists simply don't believe in them, and atheism has nothing to do with science.
