Necronator 2 Is a farcry from the original, where it's predecessor in gameplay and in feel. You controlled the undead and orc hordes you're now put into the Human race where you're fighting against the Orc, Undead and other Humans where everything is fine, albeit increasingly hard due to it's flawed system of levelling and points where you hit a brick wall where a hero is introduced.
When you're playing for the first time you'll notice that you WILL hit a brickwall on the fourth level where an enemy hero is introduced, not only this but no matter how much units you spam or strategy you implement the elven archers in the tavern spawn increasingly fast and are too hard to overcome even with all your army, they were holding off against the combined forces of me and the Orcs until their hero spawned in which it proceeded to kill everything.
You are required to jump through horrible objectives and obstacles limiting themselves to challenges on differing levels just to get points to attain new units, spells, and perks that'll help you on your way to completing the game, and if you decide to neglect this you'll end up hitting a brick wall because you haven't completed enough objectives earlier in the game, forcing you to backtrack and grind them, where a simple mess up will force you to restart the game, turning a simple fun strategy game into a horrible grind where one strategy must be implemented to attain an objective and thus advance furhter into the game.
Not only this but the game itself isn't even complete, The Human campaign is completed but all the others have been reserved for later which comes off as lazy.
Heroes themselves are too strong, i've sent wave of soldiers, archers and conscripts against a Tauren Chieftan of the Orcs on the fourth level only for him to one hit them all with his special ability forcing me to quit the game as i'm unable to do anything as I have no money and no units.
Another specific complaint about the Heroes is that even though the enemy is allowed one at such an early level you're not allowed one. Even then most Heroes end up being "remium" where you have to end up giving money just to obtain a good hero.
The experience points are too long and too boring for the troops, forcing people to rely on perks in an absolutely horrendous scheme.
TL;DR - This is a horrible game that is not even halfly finished.
This game surely has some Kingdom Rush-like style in it:
- You need certain points to get level ups for your troops - You summon pretty much humans, atleast for now - Kingdom Rush had a better and an easier tactic to win the enemies, but apperantly Necomancer 2 is more of a stragetic one or just too hard to be beaten on Level 1 troops, even though you'd try to spam them all the time
It can't be SO bad, it must've taken some time to atleast make the human race and the story for them. But I do agree, that their movements are a bit sucky...
Even though I'd point the flag on some certain direction, all troops won't necessarily go there.
But I'm sure if you level up your troops enough (Which gets a bit boring at times, actually rather fastly even), you'll get through the 4th level of the Orcs.
I also liked the first one better, even though this one seems promising. You just need to use some spells and upgrade them, players should also try getting new troops if possible, which becomes a bit hard at that point, when you're trying to get the harder shields from the levels before the 4th Orc level.
The graphics are atleast plus in this. It's good for the game to have such style, but I'd still think the Pointing system again...
the main downside for me is the controls and is their a way to be the 4th level on hard. people on the forum were tslking on it but they didn't say their diffuculty. I also agree u should get 1 or 2 sheilds for BEATING a level depending on overall diffuculty
winning with archers and swordsmen.. on easy? or on harder difficulties? Its a fun game.. but previous Toge Productions games were more entertaining.. they were just plain fun. Yes there is more strategy with this one which is fine.. but the upgrade system, troop control, and also spells.. should be mana instead of gold to make them more usefull.
Just to let you know it's better to use max leveled units than use more expensive units that are lvl 1. The max level units stats are way better until you grind up the low level units.
I didn't even use blizz, un-train all your units except militia and un-train all your spells and dump your points into food an attack bonuses and then just spam militia and as soon as you get the tavern just spam archers until you win
I hate it when people use the same name as a great game to launch something entirely new. Its like launching Starcraft 3 and then people buy it, discovering its an FPS.
