Necronator 2 Is a farcry from the original, where it's predecessor in gameplay and in feel. You controlled the undead and orc hordes you're now put into the Human race where you're fighting against the Orc, Undead and other Humans where everything is fine, albeit increasingly hard due to it's flawed system of levelling and points where you hit a brick wall where a hero is introduced.
When you're playing for the first time you'll notice that you WILL hit a brickwall on the fourth level where an enemy hero is introduced, not only this but no matter how much units you spam or strategy you implement the elven archers in the tavern spawn increasingly fast and are too hard to overcome even with all your army, they were holding off against the combined forces of me and the Orcs until their hero spawned in which it proceeded to kill everything.
You are required to jump through horrible objectives and obstacles limiting themselves to challenges on differing levels just to get points to attain new units, spells, and perks that'll help you on your way to completing the game, and if you decide to neglect this you'll end up hitting a brick wall because you haven't completed enough objectives earlier in the game, forcing you to backtrack and grind them, where a simple mess up will force you to restart the game, turning a simple fun strategy game into a horrible grind where one strategy must be implemented to attain an objective and thus advance furhter into the game.
Not only this but the game itself isn't even complete, The Human campaign is completed but all the others have been reserved for later which comes off as lazy.
Heroes themselves are too strong, i've sent wave of soldiers, archers and conscripts against a Tauren Chieftan of the Orcs on the fourth level only for him to one hit them all with his special ability forcing me to quit the game as i'm unable to do anything as I have no money and no units.
Another specific complaint about the Heroes is that even though the enemy is allowed one at such an early level you're not allowed one. Even then most Heroes end up being "remium" where you have to end up giving money just to obtain a good hero.
The experience points are too long and too boring for the troops, forcing people to rely on perks in an absolutely horrendous scheme.
TL;DR - This is a horrible game that is not even halfly finished.
Doesnt feel like the same game at all. Almost a different version of Kingdom rush to me. I was hoping for the same style as before game wise and I am disappoint.
This game is hard but DOABLE. It is not impossible like you say. It takes a little bit of skill and you can't just spam troops. If you are having that much trouble then you can just play on easy. Yes you can finish the game on easy and come back with your extra shields and kill all medium/hard levels.
I completed every shield (except for I think 4 hard shields) BEFORE the balance update (The update made the game much easier) and I think you guys just need to learn how to play the game. Just complete all objectives on one level then advance to the next. If you need a certain unit or spell then reset and buy the unit you need. You don't have to win to get the achievement so if you have an achievement on hard that says "Survive 4 minutes" then you can get the achievement and quit and possibly come back with the extra shield to retry.
Usually I'll start on easy. Look at the map and then develop a tactic before I start the match on hard or medium. If there are two people I'm fighting against I'll find out which one has better troops and try to spread my troops out to areas where they are needed. I'll find areas that are good to control and try to position my troops so that it makes sure that my towers stay alive.
The other complaint you made is the xp system. There are certain levels that are easy to get xp and if you looked for them you can get to max level easily. In fact the first level gives you 117 xp every time you play it if you know how to advance at the right pace.
I do agree with there only being human campaign is a problem. :/. I think the creator should have released it when it was all done.
The other problem is it is hard to split my troops up. So many times I find all my troops together when I want 2/3 going one way and 1/3 going the other and I have to somehow split my troops up which wastes time.
Overall I think this game is a good game. Maybe not epic but I wouldn't call this horrible.
I'm assuming you never past the first area so you probably haven't got to the tactical position part yet (Where there are two ways to get to a base) but you can still try using different spells to help you on different levels.
Also there has been a balance update since this has been posted so it is much easier. It's more casual game now rather then tactical.
To the guy that said spam rifleman: Try that on hard :P
Ok so the human campaign is rough to start. but once you reach that critical mass of shields you can power through almost anything. the undead campaign is extreamly umbalanced. I have come up with 3 effective set ups that are still not able to do anything. 1. bombs and malitta (supper cheap and kills lots) then get the necronator. 2. super buffed knights, worked relitavly good against bombs. 3. zombie appocolyps, buffed zombies with or without necronator. slow as hell but dam near unstoppable once reached critical mass, and no bombers on other side...
anyway PLZ for the love of all things that eat brains, give the walkers some life! make them go crazy fast or make them not need food i dont know. but the undead should not be the slightly disgruntled recently reanimated, they should be an un holy and unstoppable pleague.
i think its fine, iv'e beat 3/4 of the game on every difficulty with all bonus objectives and haven't had too much trouble. i just stopped playing cuz i got bored like i do after playing any game for a couple hours. not too difficult, and i think the fact that it takes so long to beat the game says that the creators were not lazy by leaving out other campaigns for future versions. id give it a solid 8/10
It's a pretty easy game it just isn't fun for me. The unit controlling is terrible and now that the undead campaign is out I tried it and it's really the same as the human campiagn.
The only new things are the skeleton squads, the zombies, and the heroes. Those units are pretty bad. The units that have equivalents in the human campaign have different stats but they have pretty much the same roles
The game is great. But it would be epic with an option to play online player vs. player, because the computer is too easy. 8/10 Hmm... I am on the top of the highscores. Who can beat me?
