We have heard of all this family. But why so many kids??? I saw the commercial before I watched it on tv and the commercial was like "the have a special announcement" and I was thinking, "wow wonder what it is". I am just confused and curious about all of this. Why the kids? Why have more? Health risks? What is your opinion?Here's the article
Could someone explain to me WHY they want that many kids
usualy people whit that many kids are doing it based on their religion. they believe that god do not want to waste lifes and so evrytime they f*ck they do it unprotected and if a kid comes from it then "they HAVE TO keep the baby or els god will punishe them"
Not one religion states that a woman has to give birth to as much children as her heart and all other organs can handle.
the bible for example does say that god does not want any life wasted. they interpreted that like they need to keep all the life they make and that god is against protected sex.

perhaps yes, but they are by far not the only family that are having so much kids. few weeks ago i saw in my national tv. a family whit 18 kids that did it for the reason i said. (because god wants it this way els we get punished in the afterlife)
I understand that this is the religion they follow, but after the numerous health problems that plagued bother mother and child with the 19th child, it doesn't make sense to have another. It is more likely to have health problems.
I have been watching this show from the start. The reason they have so many kids is based on what they think god has asked of them(so it is partially based on religion). They believe that god told them not to us protection in their "under the covers" lives, and that nothing should stop them from having as many children as god would want them to have.
Personally as a christian I can understand they're perspective on the subject, whether i agree with it is a different discussion in itself. One thing to know is that they aren't in it for the money, or the fame, or the publicity, etc etc. the father was successful in his job and had enough money for them all, and they never sought out the spotlight. They were asked by someone if they were willing/interested in doing a show, and they accepted in that they could witness to people all over the world.
Not posting this as a debate post, more as a perspective on what I think, and what I know about the family.
If they can afford the kids, and keep them in good health then I see no problem with it. I witness a lot of lower income families who have a lot kids, not 20, but a good handful. Who is to say when they should stop having kids?
I don't think they did it for attention because they were "doing this" long before it caught the public's attention. My 1 cent.

The last child they had was born premature due to complications. I don't know what their income is but it doesn't seem like it would be healthy for either the children or the parents to have to go through this so much.

I don't think they can. Often when there are that many kids, the children start to raise their younger siblings. Not litteraly, but they help a lot with the raising of the child.

They said it themselves that the older kids take care of the younger kids which makes me question their ability to parent. Someone should slap some sense into these two, and I mean that in the most literal way possible.
These are the type of people who make it so that our planet will have 10 billion people in about 4 decades. Honestly, I think that there should be a three child max law so that we don't all kill ourselves to get resources after the population reaches the tipping point.

While ideal, it is not likely to happen. What SHOULD happen is that for every child you have there are finnancial penalties unless you are below a certain income so as to dissuade people from having absurd amounts of children.
Developed countries that implement family planning have lower, controlled birth rates due to stability withen and do not really contribute to the world population growth so much. Countries in the middle stage of development however have much higher birth rates and lower death rates due to improvments in medical care and sanitary conditions which creates a population boom. India is a prime example and is set to surpass China's population before 2020 or something like that.

reminds me of how they decided to tackle the population problem in india. the goverment gave free cable out to see if population would slow in growth. it did.
