I have a question to all believers, what's your reason for sticking to your religion? (meaning why do you do it faithfuly, if you just do it cause your parents do it then I don't think you really believe)

No. There are many different religions with many different views on death: degrees of torment, or no torment at all. Some believe it's a fiery many-layered torture place for bad people. Some believe it's simply where everyone goes when they die (Sheol).
The Doctrine and Covenants is not part of the Book of Mormon, but it's generally included in triple combinations. I think there's a passage search including it at lds.org. And do you really think that the Skeptic's Annotated Bible is the best place to look for something specific?
It has always worked for me so far. You could have specified that it wasn't in the BOM, that would have made it a lot easier to look up.
From what I can tell, the "Outer Darkness" originated from some pages in Matthew, Joe Smith is really bad at writing original things. So it shal come to pass.

So basically, yes, Mormons believe in hell. Why is this even an issue when there are no Mormons around? I am growing tired of this conversation.
You said something about how many religions believed in Hell, then said I was wrong when I listed the LDS Church as one of those that don't. I think.
Alright. Lets say for the sake of conversation that they don't actually believe in hell, despite what I have brought up. Great. Now only 99-95 percent of Christians believe in hell. Combined with Islam, that is about 50% of the world who believes in hell, once again not counting religions like Hinduism where you get born in a lower status for not following their rules.

Because, we are arguing about what someone else believes, someone who isn't even here right now. And not even a particular someone, but a group of people. It is hard to find two people who believe the same thing in religion, so it is pointless to argue when no one of that religion is here.

What? Just the other Christians and Islam take up more than 50% of the world, with the third biggest being atheist/agnostic with only 16%, meaning that the majority believe in a hell... Of the world, no less, not just theists.

And what are spirits? Are they not people? Not humans mind you, but people? Like a sufficiently advanced alien, it isn't human, but it is close enough?

Depends what you mean by "believe in hell" actually. Do you mean you want to go there, or you know it exists?
I have broken all ties with religion so I consider my self an Atheist now since I have seen how corrupt Christianity is.
To answer the thread: I stick to my religion because I was raised that way so I've grown to believe in it.
Is this really a good reason to believe? I do realize it's a very common reason and due to the way humans develop can be persuasive for the person growing up in it. But is it not perhaps better to look past this and examine what is being believed in for yourself?
