I have a question to all believers, what's your reason for sticking to your religion? (meaning why do you do it faithfuly, if you just do it cause your parents do it then I don't think you really believe)
No, I think most religious folks are considered as Theists since they do believe in at least one God.
Sorry, I should clarify...religious people are theists as well, but generally if a person follows a religion, they call themselves by that religion. For example, if a person is Christian, they say that they are a "Christian", not a "theist". The term "theist" is generally only used if they don't fit into any preexisting religion, but still believe in a deity. Technically any person who believes in a god is a theist, but usually that term isn't applied to them unless there is no more accurate religious term.

I have only heard of it used as a term meaning "believing in a deity". I think the word you are looking for is "deist", which is basically making your own stuff up.
My Belief is Theism.(Theism, in the broadest sense, is the belief that at least one deity exists.)
Deism?
No, you're not. Anyone who compares God to beer pretty much hates the establishment.
God doesn't exist, beer does. I was comparing religion to beer.

Ack, no, that's not what I meant. "Theist" doesn't mean "making up your own religion" it means "believes in a God but not a religion because if they believed in a religion they'd call themselves by that religion". Look, I'll put it this way... A square is a quadrilateral, but if something is a square then you'd call it a square instead of a quadrilateral, because square is more specific and therefore more accurate. Whereas if someone says a shape is a quadrilateral, you can assume that the said quadrilateral is not a square because if it was a square then they would've called it a square for the aforementioned reasons. Whew.
God doesn't exist, beer does. I was comparing religion to beer.
Still, you can understand how it's a bit offensive....

That is a deist. I have always heard that described as deism, while I have heard "theism" used to describe a coagulation of religions.

It's a matter of respect. It's easier to debate if both parties are respectful. I've never seen any of the religious people going on about how atheism is similar to beer or drugs or what have you. Therefore, you've given them the high ground as far as debates go.

Respect? Their beliefs are completely groundless and harmful. Why should I have any respect for them? They have done nothing to earn my respect, why should I just give it to these moronic beliefs? Humans, of course, diverse a certain amount of respect as humans, but beliefs must actually earn the respect, and these beliefs deserve none.

I can understand groundless, but how are my belifes harmful? And when I say my belifes, I mean my belifes. Not westboro's, not the taliban's, my belifes specificly. Who have I hurt with them?

It is quite possible making you incapable of spelling "beliefs" correctly.
I am afraid I don't know your day to day living, or your beliefs for that matter, but I am sure having known those things I could find something.

I'm a terrible speller
I am afraid I don't know your day to day living, or your beliefs for that matter, but I am sure having known those things I could find something.
But why do you feel that because I have a religion, I'm hurting others with it. I have a very strict policy about sticking my religion into topics that arn't directly about religion. I openly accept people regardless of their religion, and always try my best to look as people as indivguals instead of as whole groups of people. I hate to hurt people, so why would I? I have a atheist friend, a agnostic one, and I sit and eat with a muslim for lunch everyday. I don't think religion really has much influence at all on how I treat people.

Have I ever stated "Others"? One of the people you are most likely to harm is yourself.
Religion, especially the Abrahamic religions, is inherently exclusionary and bigoted, seeing as only humans of your own religion would go into heaven in most cases, not to mention going against science and reasoning, as well as other harmful effects. I am sure it has effected you negatively at some point in your life.

As you say. Do you really?
I hate to hurt people, so why would I?
There are various reasons. Do you heart people?
I have a atheist friend, a agnostic one, and I sit and eat with a muslim for lunch everyday.
Well, that makes three. How open minded of you. You know a total of three people of different beliefs, apparently.
I don't think religion really has much influence at all on how I treat people.
Most people are influenced by it weather they know it or not.
How about I ask you a question that more accurately guesses the answer than the "I am a good person" you seem to be attempting to give me?
What is your moral stance on sex? That question is meant to be vague, and should probably prove that religion has some influence over you, feel free not to answer. Not answering is an answer in itself.

Well, I want to be a scientist when I grow up.
As you say. Do you really?
Yes. I've been generalized much to often. It hurts, and I don't want it to happen to others.

Its not exactly like they want to come out and let everyone know. In my highschool, those belifes (or lack of) arn't really the most excepted. Probably because most people are christian. And while I know this has had a negative effect on them, it doesn't mean it's affected me.

Sex. It's okay as long as the 1+ particpating are consenting to what they are doing. Be it hetero, gay, lesbian, orgy, domination, ect... (I'm assuming we're talking about adults. I'd rather not answer about teenagers as it would be heavily bias. But if you'd like me to I will anyway.)
What kind of scientist? Do you take the stories of the bible literally? Do you let your religion cloud your judgement?
Yes. I've been generalized much to often. It hurts, and I don't want it to happen to others.
For the moment all I have is your word on the subject, which is famously bad when people talk about themselves.

So three(Two?) of your friends are negatively effected by other people, but you don't feel this at all?
It's okay as long as the 1+ particpating are consenting to what they are doing.
One plus?

Please do. What age is it considered OK to have sex in your mind?
