I have a question to all believers, what's your reason for sticking to your religion? (meaning why do you do it faithfuly, if you just do it cause your parents do it then I don't think you really believe)

Entire reason why anyone should follow religion in my opinion is that, it provides comfort in time of need, and if the religion is hindering you more so than helping you then you should convert to something you think is right.

Exactly. No one is forcing anyone to be religious, so why do people like 314d1 feel that they can try to force others to be atheist?

Simply being knowledgable dosen't make you extremist. Extremism depends on the group and what they're preaching.

so pastors and priests are not extremists. but they do try to convince people that god is real.

then why shouldn't 314d1 be allowed to convince those people that they are wrong?

i don't see the difference.

in other words... why is it labeled "forcing" when 314d1 does it and not when a priest does it?

Do most priest preach to the non-religious outside a church often? (This is a real question I have no idea.) Though I would assume they don't. I've only really seen a priest preach in a church, with people who are already religious. Not to say its wrong to try to convince people to abandon their religion, its just that when its done in that way, it can be taken as offensive. He has every right to say those things, and no one should try to stop him. But I'd personally like to know why he feels the way he does.

Many try to 'spread the word' publicly, so yes. Most of the time it's not them personally, but followers under orders to do so. Some, like Westboro, hold religious protests.

But I'd personally like to know why he feels the way he does.

As it's been said, he was a Christian, but 'woke up' and realized there was no proof, nothing supporting it other than a book, prayers didn't do anything, etc... He figures it's no different than believing in faries or leprechauns or nessie.

It almost seems like hates religion though. I guess I'm just looking into it too much.

No, you're not. Anyone who compares God to beer pretty much hates the establishment.

My Belief is Theism.(Theism, in the broadest sense, is the belief that at least one deity exists.)

Wouldn't that also be agnostic?

That's taking religious protests to an extreme though. Most religions don't take their message to the public that radically. An example being people that hand out flyers to the public in front of places like schools and such and JW's.

No, an Agnostic believes that the truth value of certain claimsâ"especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claimsâ"is unknown or unknowable. Theists believe that at least one God exists.
