Well a lot of people have been telling me evolution is real. They give me the most craziest surreal 'facts'. Has anyone discovered any fish with legs? Any humans with gills or fins? If you put all the pieces of a watch into you're pocket and shake it around for trillions of years, will it ever become a watch? Is there but one possibility? Or if you completely dismantle a chicken and a fish, and put it into a box, shaking it around for trillions of years. Will it ever become a fish with wings? or a chicken with fins? :l
Wasn't it the other way around? Where the horns were pointed down then up?
Um, that's very possible, yes. I'd have to see the documentary again though.. How do you imagine is it possible? I think the reason is that the cell-division hotspot, or the higher concentration of agents inducing cell division, move either upwards or downwards the horn base, since the curve is achieved by asymmetric growth (at least that's how I imagine it to be, very much alike the way plant roots/stems grow in different directions).

You people are wasting your life trying to prove something that is impossible. If evolution was real you would be able to see something of an inbetween nature. Plus Charles Darwin even said he was wrong and he became a Christian. Plus it is only the THEORY of evolution yet people treat it like a law. you are over thinking it and if you make it the pure truth God prevailes and you people just want to feel more then just a speck of dust in the scheme of things.
Plus Charles Darwin even said he was wrong and he became a Christian
To correct an inconsistency, Darwin was Christian before even thinking of heading on his voyage. After his studies (and consumption of nearly every animal he discovered), he found it difficult to keep to his faith of Christianity. And despite having Christian values and knew it was blasphemous in that day to think less of your own religion, he put those thoughts (and his faith) aside when conducting research.

There are numerous transitional forms. What in between step would you like to see?
While waiting for that answer here's just one classic example, archaeopteryx.
How it may have looked in life.
Plus Charles Darwin even said he was wrong and he became a Christian.
First of all this is a completely untrue statement. The origin of this came from a one Lady Hope who claimed to have spoken with Darwin shortly before he died. The truth however is she never once saw him the entire time he was ill.
The second problem here is Darwins personal views on the matter hold no baring on their validity. Science simply doesn't work that way.
The third problem with your statement here is that Darwin was a Christian already.
Plus it is only the THEORY of evolution yet people treat it like a law.
You fail at scientific terminology. A theory is the highest thing you can have in science as it offers explanation for the observed events, a law is something else entirely. Theories don't grow up to become laws.
Theory; A scientific explanation of related observations or events based on hypotheses and verified multiple times by different independent researchers.
Scientific Law; a statement of fact meant to describe, in concise terms, an action or set of actions.
you are over thinking it
And your running on automatic, instead of thinking... (meme attributed to BionicDance)

Yes the arrogant belief that the universe wasn't created just for us.
Also, here's another one worth reading if you want: [url=http://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/pcxo7/im_a_creationist_because_i_dont_understand/]
My apologies if those links don't work, I'm not that good at this.
You know. We don't often hear what people think after we've presented our arguments. Do they still disagree, do they deny the facts, do they accept them. How many have actually accepted the facts we have presented?
That is pretty cool, I haven't heard of that before. I will have to include a link in the E-bomb.

I think 44Flames said he was coming around to the idea. If you read this I would like to know which arguments put forth worked for you?
macfan had told me on profile he was impressed with how I was about to counter ever argument he made but he still denied evolution for his religious beliefs.
If we are to look at things from a religious perspective then the creationist argument would seem to be a breach of the 9th commandment (no lying) as it's usually interpreted. This of course doesn't make all creationists liars but there are proponents who come up with these arguments that we often see. Some of them really should know better.
you people just want to feel more then just a speck of dust in the scheme of things.
Right....a reason many religious groups are fond of throwing in the face of evolution, that it's merely a heretical travesty in an attempt to inflate our importance relative to God. So say religious groups, who repeatedly teach their flocks that they are ''God's Chosen People'', that God created us in His own image, that God cares for each of us all the time and keeps a watchful eye over us, and provides everything for us, and responds to the most mundane of our prayers etc etc etc.
I never understood how religious people/theists think that atheists/non religious people are somehow arrogant.

Because of knowingly distorting facts, leaving out parts of quotes, and ignoring relevant parts? I'm not 100% sure what you're saying with this, but that's my best guess.

Most probably post and then never come back again. For those that do, I assume they either get tired of being constantly refuted on so many levels when every time they post it is shown that they don't really know what they're on about. Maybe a few accept them, but definitely not the majority. Beliefs aren't logical, so logic doesn't mean they should change them.
Do I believe in evolution. of course, all things evolve to a certain degree. Do I think man can from chimps. Heck No! All creatures evolve to a certain extent, they either evolve more or devolve. Even man, as we know it is evolving as we add technology, explore the cosmos, expand our knowledge of things on this planet and all around us. We evolve as humans when we learn to accept each other regardless of skin color, etc.
Yes, I am a Christian and I do believe we were formed by God, in his image. I am entitled to that opinion, even if others do not. Some of my Christian friends argue about the cosmos and how the universe was created. They want to go with the traditional bible view that God snapped his fingers and said made it so. I like to believe that He is much more creative than that, and used science, such as the Big Bang Theory to create the cosmos. My wife disagrees, lol. Science and religion can go together. But my biggest question when I get to heaven, is...what killed the dinosaurs and when did come into play? That one still has me baffled. Oh well......
