This question popped up when talking to a friend here on ArmorGames...
"Do you remember what the first compact disc was you purchased?"
Let's face it... the compact disc is already an 'older' type of data storage, but still not completely wiped out by the current most popular song format, the mp3! And even though it's bound to happen someday, with current technology and all... it's a pretty sturdy fella to deal with! =)
I'll throw in my memories as well... the first two compact discs I bought (or rather, was allowed to buy since they were sponsored by mum) were "Me So H****" by 'The 2 Live Crew' and "This Beat is Technotronic" by 'Technotronic'.
So... how about your first cd's? Which was it/where they? Do you still listen to them now? Do you still own them or have you gotten ridd of them already? And tell us something about the artist(s) and/or song(s) please!
Mine was either Guns n' Roses greatest hits of AC/DC High Voltage. My tastes have shifted toward the progressive side now though, so these CD's rarely get played anymore.
When I started coming into my own money, I bought most of my songs on iTunes. Since I'll be driving soon, I value the CD much more. First CDs I bought:
1) Parachutes - Coldplay 2) Mylo Xyloto - Coldplay (As well as on iTunes) 3) Transatlanticism - Death Cab for Cutie 4) The Invitation - Thirteen Senses 5) Oh! Gravity - Switchfoot
These are actually all the actual CDs I own; I bought all of them within 15 minuts of each other. The wonderful joys of Amazon. ^^
...by the current most popular song format, the mp3!
Maybe popular but not to me. Mp3 is a garbage format, flac is better. As if it wasn't crappy enough, some retard created joint stereo which takes the details from both sides and turn it into a vomit flat and non dimensional sounding insult to my ears. In other word, you lose the stereo effect.
