I'm sure you people here other people cuss everyday, and i'm sure you've probably done some as well. One day when I was playing basketball with other teens they prey much said all kinds of words: "Come on man shoot that **** shoot that ****!" "He ain't gonna **** that ****!" "yeah baby! That's what i'm ***** talking about" "You ****!"
Every single sentence has vulgar. Doe's no one have common sense? Cussing is not a way of life. I'm sick of hearing stuff like that! The world is not a vulgar land.
What do you people think? Should the world be full of swearing? Or should we just have some common sense and stop with the cussing? Really people, I'm sick of vulgar.
This is based upon opinion, and unfortunatly, many people's opinions have changed drastically due to our Judeo-Christian ethics. I personally don't see how it is terribly bad, if used in moderation, as all things.
I also hope that no one takes my sentences, and dissects them completly out of context. I'm fine with the whole paragraph, or a certain phrase sticks out but, please.
Freedom of language! If one's best way to get a point across, create atmosphere, or just plain be funny, is to use a word one normally considers taboo, then why not let them? Why restrict oneself ability to use the tongues or brains we've painstakingly evolved?

Cussing is not funny at all. I heard jokes with vulgar in them and they suck! They just use the cussing because they think it is funny, but the audieunce thinks otherwise.

Tosh.0, South Park, egoraptor, all elements where using "taboo terms" at proper times creates a hilarious atmosphere. Why would they be popular and so highly acclaimed otherwise?
I don't think he's all that funny, but the audience does -- and the cussing doesn't change much of that, rather encourages it.
Vulgar language is something I view nearly everything else as -- just do it in moderation. I don't swear that often, but that's what sends the point across when you do -- you send a stronger message than if you swore every sentence.
I've not a problem with swearing -- I do it on occasion, but only when it's to more easily express something. I wouldn't infront of people I don't know or family -- but around friends I wouldn't pay too much attention to hearing the occasional curse word.
Also, it is a way of life. Not one I approve of, but yeah -- it's pretty much how people talk.
What I don't appreciate is you trying to make me pick such an extreme side and making the other look stupid.
The world should be full of people who can express themselves adequately, where situations aren't severe enough to support the use of swearing. Where ailments don't afflict people -- good or bad, at random. Where people can live in paradise and others live in poverty.

In addition to what everyone else already said there are George Carlin and Lewis Black, who are among the greatest American comedians.
When you think about it, they are words. Words like other words. Words like "kitty, puppy, bunny, and giraffe". The meanings are otherwise. If you have just been taught by your parents not to use the words other than they are impolite, you must wonder why they are impolite. The meanings are usually as you would refer to as gross. Therefore overusing it doesn't make that much sense.

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize this wasn't subject to opinion, and that only what you find funny is funny.
Well, what I've noticed is that no one quoted my response on the top of page 4, so I'm guessing I have a real, flawless point. Chalk one up for Santi!
Everybody on this thread, except for one person, is arguing the same point as you, and therefor have no need to quote you, and that one person arguing against everyone else either isn't reading everyone's posts, or isn't responding to them.
okay, i have read your posts, and have found the following:
the majority of us have matured enough to know that swearing is bad, but is okay in moderation, or certain situations.
people who disapprove are either prudish, or trapped in the ultra-conservative era.
I'm here to tell you guys that swearing is bad, but it isn't the words that are bad, it is the meaning. if we want people to stop being offended, then just change the official definition in the dictionary. that way, everyone is happy.
on a more serious note, standards have changed for each generation, and people are starting to realize just how silly all of these little moral restrictions we used to have are.
don't be mad at death, for he is a baptist, ultra-conservative. like jesus said once "forgive them, for they know not what they do" (I know what I just did, no need to give me flak for it)

Well, fine, apparently you're not seeing past your slightly flawed logic. So, let us have our freedom of speech, and if you don't like that, just don't say it, and ignore those people. So what if they say ____ you. Okay, one pissed of person said 2 words, when in the long run, doesn't really do anything.
It's hard to change a culture with one forum post on AG, and when everyone but yourself is disagreeing with your opinion. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, probably because that's impossible, just that it's too un-corrupted for our society.
vulgar words can help. put a finger in a cup of hot coffe, but without saying something vulgar. put your finger again in the hot coffe, but say a vulgar word this time. there is a difference.
well, i would like to hear less vulgar words, some are even said without knowing what they mean!
