I'm sure you people here other people cuss everyday, and i'm sure you've probably done some as well. One day when I was playing basketball with other teens they prey much said all kinds of words: "Come on man shoot that **** shoot that ****!" "He ain't gonna **** that ****!" "yeah baby! That's what i'm ***** talking about" "You ****!"

Every single sentence has vulgar. Doe's no one have common sense? Cussing is not a way of life. I'm sick of hearing stuff like that! The world is not a vulgar land.

What do you people think? Should the world be full of swearing? Or should we just have some common sense and stop with the cussing?
Really people, I'm sick of vulgar.

i cuss all the time they are just words but allot of people take it way to far (black people) they say nig.ger after every other word its annoying and if i say it one time they get all pissed off just because im white they call us racist they are the racist ones its funny when mexicans say the n word it makes no sense that mexicans can say ****** when there not black blacks can say it because they are but whites cant but all races can call whites whatever they want stupid racist ******s

I suppose it's because when they use it, they mean it in an affectionate way, turning a derogatory term into something more casual and as a sense of unity. When a non-black person uses it, even when he doesn't mean so, it just doesn't get that kind of understanding and meaning.

Censorship of anything at any level is wrong

People who speak vulgar english are just trying to project the "bad ***" image which is basically how you get people to like you (and women for that matter, it's not your gentle 6 year old voice that's going to get her to spread her legs, think about it, what kind of language do people usually use while having sex?). In addition vulgarity is also a way of proving to people around you that you "Relaxed" that it's "Chill" and that you've got it not matter what. Think about it, what sounds more appealing when talking in a group? "Oh it's so hot and nice today" as aposed to -> "Oh **** man that sun is ****ing crazy! "

However! if this really bothers you find new people to hang out with, use your "good judgment" to sort out the people you can't stand and the people you can stand. Just note that people that don't swear are on average a hell of a lot more boring.

Stop being such a freakin panzy, who the frig cares? It's only vocal sounds. Stop being so self-righteous and man up.

P.S. deathbewithyou is the maker of this thread

The link between a word and a meaning is largely arbitrary. What is more, the meaning (or meanings) of a word can change, as has apparently been the case with taboo or 'vulgar' words in English. Present day American English is not quantitatively more 'vulgar' than any other manifestation of the language throughout its history. Words that were once taboo are no longer taboo, and words that are now taboo will no longer be so in a few years. In the example of f****ng, the form can effectively be used as any grammatical category (adjective, verb, etc.) and at times appears to be nothing more than a discourse marker, seemingly devoid of meaning (e.g. ...Then I f****n' went to the f****n' store and that's why I was f****n' late... is functionally equivalent to ...Then I like went to the, like, store and that's why I was like late...)

Ultimately, what is offensive to an individual is idiosyncratic and subjective. The form-meaning connection is arbitrary.

"american-english" is not the most volga one my dear. you just dont hear the "street kids" speak the other language. Hebrew? just hear the "arses" speak it, and you will be ashamed to read the bible.
english in england? they english 'unks' curse more than you can imagiane. but its like that in every 'unk' culture ever. in australia, in the "wild west", in the poorer area in Rome, they curse. everywher the language and the 'less smart' and 'simple' man meet each other, teh language get violetade. this is how its happen, and it happened all teh time.

There is nothing terribly wrong with swearing in my eyes. All things in moderation, however. When people go out of their way to be vulgar for the mere fun of it, that isn't preferable. But, a world were we create our own "eternal torture", swearing is far from the top of the list.
