What is this show really about? I have heard people talking about it at school and how they love it. Is it just people running and fighting zombies the whole time?

No, that would make it generic and bad. There are dramatic scenes and such, not just killing zombies the whole time. I think it's pretty good.
Anyway, I've only recently started watching it. I think I started at the beginning of season three. A cool moment for me was when Rick quickly took out those two guys in the bar.
I hope it shows them reaching a safe haven of survivors that later get run down by large swarms off zombies and that they find that t the beginning of the first season.
Well, it is being called season 3 by many. So it's not like everyone who calls it season 3 thinks season 2 was finished. Anyhow, I think Darktroop's idea is too... Dawn of The Dead ish? It's been done lots of times already. I'd like to see the group moving on, and also that it's shown what happened to Merle. Now, for what's the next catch in the series going to be, I have no idea. Really, it's hard to imagine what's going to be a game changer. Everything seems to have been done already. Let's hope for something creative from the producers.
love the show, and it still is season 2, but that barly matters. It would be cool if their turned out to be some sort of a cure, but shane destoys it in anger or if another group took all of the samples themselves, and they have to go chase them down to cure one of the members of their own groups. either way the producers and writers have been doing great so far, so I trust them with it.
It needs more action for me... and I want to know what the doctor at the CDC said to Rick, and then if the black man and his son are gonna come back. And Meryl.
I totally agree with you. I'm a bit disappointed with season 2 because I think it's too slow. I read somewhere that it would be more focused on personal issues, but I never expected that the characters would be talking the whole time. Obviously, I don't want them to be killing zombies all the time, but in my opinion action and drama aren't balanced well enough.
I love season 2. (its still season 2) I find it a lot more interesting than season 1.. a lot more character development, which is more important that action in my opinion. that being said, Shane is starting to lose my love... I've loved him since the start of the show simply because he is a BA. Lori is also starting to get kind of annoying.. in the last episode she basically told Andrea that she needs to do woman work... I'm not cool with that. GLENN, my favorite character now has a girlfriend, Maggie. I'm upset at him because I have been in love with Lauren Cohan (Maggies actress) since I saw her on Supernatural.. and i feel kind of betrayed by him.. and yes, i know this seems ridiculous, but what can I say?
I really enjoy the deep storyline about the walking dead, its more then just a horror. Its almost...... a drama maybe? I started to watch since the.end.of season 1, and I was hooked. I watch it every Sunday night with my.mom... really surprised she likes it actually.....
