I am trying to start a protest about the ads on Armorgames. There are a lot of inappropriate ads, and there are little kids that play on it Armorgames! Younger kids do not have a decent place now to play games without being exposed to profanity and pornography. If you feel the same, please express your thoughts here. If enough people protest, Armorgames may block offending ads, or at least let you select your level of ad exposure.

Ah yes. I would have to agree. Recently the ads have been getting more and more... revealing. I really wouldn't want kids to see these things at so young an age.

There are no porn ads, but the ads are inoppropriate for children. If you notice sometimes you will see ads of women that wear clothing that is revealing.

I'll sign on with this protest.
I agree about the *ahem* revealing ads, and I just don't like ads anyhow, so I guess you could say I have a double incentive.

The alternative is paying to use ArmorGames, so I love ads. They're the reason you can have fun without paying on the Internet.

As for the more revealing ads, that's beyond AG's control. IIRC, it's a third party that chooses which ads to display, but they should already be trying to keep the ads suitable for the age rating on this site. However, keep in mind that ArmorGames is a 13+ site, so the ads don't have to be all puppies and rainbows to be acceptable.

Isn't the usual theory that ads reflect your browsing history, which means that the revealing ads might very well be your own fault.

Either way, there isn't that much to do about it, besides making up an ad firm yourself and pay AG to show your ads.

(More so, when did revealing ads become a death sin? Besides America being really skittish when it comes to nudity? If there are no nudity as such, there is no porn, and no nipples showing, it is just a whole lot of skin that the kids ought to be aware of already, unless they are getting a somewhat sheltered upbringing.
If parents or guardians of the children do their parenting properly, they would have installed an ad blocker if they don't want their kids to see those ads that are the same here, on dA and everywhere else they might be going. Just as they probably should monitor their kids better if they find their kids getting nightmares from a game they have been playing on AG (as someone else complained about). If they don't trust their children won't get affected, they should place them in front of the computer alone. Anyway...)

That's what I thought. Ever since they discontinued the Evony advertisements a few months ago I haven't seen anything I'd call inappropriate for even a 7 year old.

The only ads I ever see now are the Star Wars: The Old Republic one, a college ad for some Christian school, and the new armor games coming soon thing.

(More so, when did revealing ads become a death sin?

Seriously. You see just as much skin at a beach or the pool.

Ready for a double whammy?

1) Kids that young shouldn't be left on their own on the internet if they're seriously going to be affected by casual ads with scantily clad women. I don't even think a 7-9 year old is going to look at them and think "Oh wowzers!" they won't even notice it I bet.

2) It's the parents responsibility to monitor/teach their kids about these sorts of things. Parents also shouldn't just be shoveling off &quotarenting" to the media/school/internet because they themselves are too lazy to do it.

We should have also brought up a topic about some of the games that should be blocked on here. As such some games are inopropriate for children. But anyway Sometimes AG would try to show sexy women on there ads. Now when I go to play a game sometimes that ad just bothers me and I can't concentrate on a game. So I quit playing and just go to the forums.

First of all, AG doesn't pick the ads, second, sexy is not the same as porn.

ad just bothers me and I can't concentrate on a game

All men get a little bit distracted by sexy women, but I'm pretty sure that saying you can't play the game when one's on the page is an exaggeration.

Then the parents shouldn't be letting their kids play them, now should they?

Really, half of your argument is, "KIDZ MIGHT BE HARMED" when it's the parents responsibility to make this -not- happen.

The other half is your own morals/puritan views. If you don't want to look at them, as others have said, install an ad blocker. Or just refresh the page.

Now when I go to play a game sometimes that ad just bothers me and I can't concentrate on a game.

I fail to see how you get distracted. Unless you're so hyper-focused on not seeing the ad that you focus on the ad.

It's true that AG is doing what it can with it's limited influence and is doing fine, the rest is the parent's responsibility concerning the kids access to internet. Shifting that responsibility to AG is, well irresponsible.

I like ads on armorgames, because I don't have to pay. I was just saying the ads are too "revealing". Two that come to mind is the "Zwinky" thing and the "My Tattoo Girl" ads.
