There's a lot of skepticism about Invisible Children. I'm seeing quite a few reddit and tumblr responses pointing out that Invisible Children is a scam, or at least, not a transparent enough organization to be trusted.
I understand that sometimes war is needed to protect innocent people. But let me stress something, this is a call to war. It hasn't even been a week since the movement went viral, and thousands of people are already on the bandwagon supporting this group that is pro-war.
There's no doubt that this movement is late in asking people to expose Kony, and it's better late than never, but is Kony as much of a threat as what was lead on? Many people have pointed out that Kony has been less active over the past few years due to him being on the run. This would make the claims made by Invisible Children exaggerated, and maybe even dishonest.
I'd like to look into this issue further before making up my mind. I'm sure many members who lurk this part of the forum will find plenty more information that will help us uncover the truth.
I am anti-war, therefore I am incredibly hesitant when it comes to calling for military action, especially on an issue most supports know next to nothing about.
Hmm Ive been seeing this everywhere I turn now. Personally I dont know if we need another war after we are just extracting ourselves out the middle east. Perhaps some sort of commando raid against him. I feel though that if we start taking down one dictator in africa some may want to just keep going trying to get rid of all the dictators. I guess Im just going to wait for more info on this charity group and info on the Kony guy to arise.

That still doesn't hide the fact that the crimes he committed are incredibly awful, even unspeakable. It's absurd that he hasn't been caught yet and, honestly, it makes me mad.
Like you said, I am a bit skeptical about Invisible Children. There is a possibility it might be a scam. Obviously, I'm going to see if it's legit first before I invest money into it.

I've been reading a lot that 20% goes to the actual cause, 50% in the organizers pockets and 30% unclaimed.
Anyone know anything about this or is it typical internet gossip?

Hmm, yes. I do agree with the incentive, to take down Kony, but this whole organization, meh, who knows if the money actually goes towards the cause?
