I think that gay marrige should be approved in every state in the U.S. I know it has been approved in California and just recently in Pennsylvania, but should it realy be allowed? I think it should be, I mean just because your gay doesn't mean you shoud have less rights then straight people. Gays should have the equal rights to get married just the way I do. Shouldn't they?? Tell me what you think.
If gay marraige is recognized and homosexuality is accepted by the public, then mass confusion could result. (I don't know how old you all are or what conditions you live in) Say, you are in high school one generation after these ideas are made law on a federal level, you are straight. You ask a someone out on a date and they say, " sorry, I'm gay." You feel like a retard. People would have to wear signs on their heads saying "Look at me! I'm gay!" making both people feel retarded. You might see where I'm going with this.
Eventually, there would just be two groups of citizens, homosexual and heterosexual. Do you remember from your history books what happened the last time our country formed two large groups of people with opposite views? We had a Civil War.
I'm not saying that any of the above will or will not happen, but they'r distinct possibilities.
I tryed to stay away from all of the religious stuff that you've heard about that you've probably heard about with all of the "christian nation, principles, etc..." for my example.

That is possibly the most retarded argument i have ever heard in my life. Gay people wouldnt have to go around wearing signs because there might be a chance a straight person could ask them out and cause a tiny bit of embarrasment. And the fact u are comparing gay marriage to the American Civil war is just crazy.
I reckon the reason u feel strongly about this is because u asked out a gay person and they rejected u on the grounds that they dont roll that way. Deal with it in private. Dont post ur rubbish on here.
If two ppl love each other then they should be allowed to marry but why cant they love someone of the opposite sex?
This is about as useful as asking "why can people love somebody of the opposite sex?" Think about it!

You appear to be implying that gay marriage will somehow impinge on the rights and freedoms of heterosexual people.
No offense...but that really is quite silly. Your example above doesn't even make sense, given that regardless of whether there's a law recognising same-sex couples, if you asked somebody who was gay out and they had the consideration to inform you that they were gay (and therefore not interested), you'd feel retarded anyway.
The identity politics are already well in effect, which is why we're discussing this issue now. The only people who are placing the issue at any risk of polarisation are those who impede the progress of social reform by placing uninformed objections.
On the plus side of the legalization of homosexuality, we would solve the whole world population problem. If being gay/lesbian becomes the new thing, there will be less babies since sex between 2 males or 2 females doesn't make babies...
It amazes me that this chain is still going on since I checked up on this one like 2 weeks ago...and it is still here? It's interesting to see more people pay attention to these types of things instead of -for instance- the dying children of Darfur...just saying'...
Why do people automatically think that if you legalize homosexual marriage that the population would drop? Here are some things to think about:
1. Before I accepted myself as being gay, I was never going to have children. 2. Now that I have accepted myself, my girlfriend and I are planning on having children in about 10-12 months. 3. Homos can adopt and have children themselves. 4. There were probably more homosexual and bisexual men and women in ancient Greece than full on heterosexuals. They didn't die out...
i have always thought about the kids if they were adopted ito a gay marrige: 1: what would they grow to be another gay/lesbian? 2: how would others treat them in school 3:what would their social life be like who would be their friend?
