The last gay man who made advances toward me got sued for a couple thousand dollars for harassment.

and this is called homophobia. im sure you wouldnt have reacted that way if it was a girl right? what if youd advance to a girl, and she would do the same because she is a lesbian? your logic is horibbly damaged and controled by your insecurities

I think in this case the question is what does "made advances" mean. If he simply said you look good or something like that and you sued him, you're a horrible person.

If he repeatedly made comments like that and touched you, then I'm not going to argue with that.

Doesn't even need to be a lesbian in this case.

(also...so there is no nit-picking...by nature it does not mean environment, but biological)

Ignore this..don't know why I put that in there

The homosexuality isn't the problem. It's just the lechery, and would be the same crime if the man harassed a girl.

Are you saying heterosexual pedophiles are ok? If not, why did you even mention pedophiles in this thread?

xAyjAy, statistically most pedophiles are heterosexual men, so what are you trying to get at?

just a quick example.

i wanted to say that it homosexuality is not wrong as long as you do not see it as such a thing.

i, myself, are not homosexual. i do not dislike homosexual men/women and i have nothing against them. i know a gay man who was once my friend before he came out of the closet.

i know a gay man who was once my friend before he came out of the closet.

And then, according to your words, you cut all ties and sailed off after he declared he was gay.

Once again, humans have sex for pleasure as well as procreation. Procreational sex requires at least one fertile set of male and female genitalia each, but recreational sex can have any combination.

Oh, the logic! The idea that there are two kinds of sex. Should shut up that "not natural" talk.

If a gay person does nothing to you, why must you despise them? Please, those who hate gays, answer me this.

homosexuals do not just advance to a random guy.

sure they do. in places where its ok. many wont have the courage but how would they ever know if a person is gay or not unless they ask/stalk/wait for them to have a gf/bf? and asking is in the category of advancing.

and a world where every person can just advance the person he likes in a natural way is also a world we should aim for.

And then, according to your words, you cut all ties and sailed off after he declared he was gay.

it does sound that way but thats not what he said. lets just wait for the reply XD

homophobia, which is usually a term homophobes hate because they think a phobia is a fear and dont know it also means illogical discomfort. sometime in these forums (maybe even the same one) i saw a person so ashamed of that word that he eventually said something like: "i dont feel uncomfortable with gays as long as they dont get too close".

funny isnt it?

lol, in places where it's oke?
i live in a place where it's oke. and no, they dont.
they just say they are gay if it comes to topic. so everyone knows and he has to ask nothing. the reaction of people say's allot and if the other gay guy also say's he is gay. then there is no guessing.

if it doesn't come to topic then a friendly conversation about each others interests can give allot away about the person. after a few they know if your gay or not.

they will never straight up ask a random guy if he is gay.

sorry but even they arent psychic and that whole gay-dar thing is totally inacruate. have you ever even talked about this topic with a gay person? just because no gay guy ever hit on you doesnt mean what you are saying is true. and not every gay person is on the search for a bf either. its not as obvious as you think and there are many gays you would never know are gay unless they streight out told you so

gay-dar?

ofcourse...

yes and they do if it comes to topic (well not all of them, many have to come out yet. but if they did they say it)
doesn't mean they always bring it to topic by themself. my experience is that they often use woman to open the topic. or woman start about the topic by themself when they know their friend is gay and are meeting new people at that moment.
it's nothing special really.

Oh this thread. So delicious, yet so oddly looping.
Ohwell, catchinguppostagain, with late reactions to things yay.

Lemme revise that. 1: The purpose of any SPECIES is to reproduce, indirectly if not directly, in order to sustain their existence.

There's spare kids around (and that's kind of a rude way for me to refer to orphans, but). Letting homosexual couples adopt would help alleviate this, since they're unlikely to get children the standard way. This way, homosexuals who want children can contribute to the fairly flawed system of reproduction that society has going without even touching artificial insemination or surrogate mothers.

Congrats, you swayed my opinion. Happy now? Wanna go and prove abortion's wrong? Wait, wrong thread for that. But i'm NEVER changing my pro-choice attitude, not in a million years.

Tangential to this thread for sure, but I'm suprised someone as "having kids is the meaning of life!" as you've been coming across in here would be pro-choice. No argument, though, considering I agree on that stance.

Just a quick note: I dont believe in bisexualism. I dont want to explain it, so dont ask me too.

As a pansexual individual, I don't even what.

asking is in the category of advancing

I dunno about that. I've asked people about their sexual orientation (and fetishes, for that matter) many times out of pure curiosity. I like knowing personal info about people, doesn't mean I wanna get with them. :V

gay-dar?
It's the term for this idea people have that gay people can sort of sense other gay people.
Perceptive people can catch on to a great deal of subtle hints about other people's personality and habits, but that goes beyond notions of gay/straight.

they will never straight up ask a random guy if he is gay.
This could be kind of funny to do, actually. It doesn't seem like a good opener, though, so yeah, meeting a new person and starting out with that? Probably not a common occurrence.

Honestly, I say that one great argument for being born gay is that some animals are gay. Animals don't really have the same kind of choice that humans do. And yet some do it. So if they can't choose to be gay, then they must have been born gay.
Anyway, I think that not only should you not judge a person for being gay, you should not include their sexuality in judging other parts of their personality. I was raised by a gay man who I thought of as a sort of step-father. He was nice.
Also, I don't care about stereotypes. I think they're something to joke about, not something to use as guidelines with which to determine the personality of a person.
'Nuff said.
Also, sorry for the long post.

well i never mend they "sense" it. i explained a little by examples how they know whitout asking.

yea for fun. but i doubt that those that ask are gay themself.
a fist in the face isn't far away if you go around asking people if they are gay.

Another thing to add to this, in' it also natural for us to seek out what is pleasurable to us?

:O I've never noticed that as an argument before. And the Church does claim that animals have no soul, they are creatures who do not think, feel or choose such things at any rate.

So, to recap the arguments:

Homosexuality is unnatural- It occurs in nature.
Homosexuals can't reproduce- Yes they can.
Homosexuality is a choice- All available evidence points towards homosexuality being biologically hardwired.
I don't believe that (x)/I believe that (y)- It doesn't matter what you believe, it matters what you can demonstrate.
Homosexuality is wrong/I don't like homosexuality- Subjective distaste is irrelevant to discussion of what homosexuality objectively is.
Homosexuality does not continue reproduction- Pointless; a sexual interest in recreational sex is not mutually exclusive with an interest in procreative sex.
