For all who are thinking "not another 'is God real' topic", I would like to say this is not one. This Discussion has nothing to do with evolution versus God. It has nothing to do with the debate about God's existence. This topic is something else.

In this discussion we are assuming God exists. We are also assuming that there is alien life and multiple Universes, or a multiverse. Here are some questions I would like to run by people:

Assuming God exists as well as alien life, would God only have power over Earth and Humans, and the aliens would have a different god. Or, would God be the god of the Aliens as well?

Also, assuming there is a Multiverse, would a universe be the domain of One god (or many gods) and a different universe is the domain of another (or another group)? Or would the Multiverse be controlled by one god?

I would like some peoples ideas on this. Thanks!

I am an atheist but this is almost interesting. For the answer to the Multiverse thing yo should read Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" Trilogy starting worth the Golden Compass, which suggests God is a S.O.B. who rules in another universe. Some scientists believe there is a parallel universe where all matter and energy has the opposite charge (anti-matter) of the matter in our universe, so would the Flying Spaghetti Monster instead be the Walking Fusilli (bow-tie pasta) Beast? For the aliens, who would be supported in a jihad and which was created in his image? Still the existence of a god defies common sense and logical reasoning.

I have read the Golden Compass, and it was quite interesting. Unfortunatly, it was also quite creepy, so I decided to stop there. I do know about the theory of Parallel Universes, and I even posted a topic about that a while back. The topic of Multiverses did not realate to parallel universes, rather, it realated to each Universe being created by an individual god, or a group of gods.

I enjoy these kinds of "assumption" discussions.

However there are flaws. When you mentioned a god existed, you didn't mention which god. Did you mean the widely known Christian God? Or an Asian god. Or a cult god? Also, if a god did exist, it would be known or unknown if another god existed or if he controlled the multi-verses. Quite frankly, a pristine subject. However the discussion could be different. Other than "would there be", and thesis if there were other gods, maybe a discussion on how it would change the world. It's a yes or no answer, sorry. Great topic however.

Personally, I assume that there is one almighty God who controls all whether they are from different universes or from Mars! In any matter, we were all created in his Image.

I can't believe I'm finally seeing this thread. I have been waiting for it for a while now. Thank you.

Assuming there is a God, and aliens, and multiverses, consider if they are all connected. I don't mean a God having knowledge of the existance of aliens in another universe it either does or doesn't have control or creation rights over. I mean, what if their are aliens that are in another universe that are our actual creators.

Hear me out before you start saying scientology, which I hate being an atheist and all. It is said that we are created in the image of God and angels are a sort of 1st batch of creation with a direct line right. Well in christianity there are the 'Nephilim', which are supossed to be giants. Well consider for a moment that these aliens/angels bred with humans that were created by God/angels. Breeding with there own creation could've made the nephilim.

The infamous 'Greys' are kinda humanoid. There body shape, eye's, phalanges, mouth, height. And in the bible Adam and Eve and there lineage weren't great in stature. For that look at BMI demographics through time which shows that we started much smaller than we are today. What if they bred with there creation and in so doing it created a mutation that cause gigantes. Gog and Magog would have E.T. as an uncle.

Now with that, look at the history of UFO's. There even acknowledged in the christian bible. Not to mention they're mention in countless other texts dating back before the christian bible, like sumarian and arcadian for example. Wouldn't that explain why they are always around. They're not running test on us to plan a takeover. Thay're just checking in their children that they sent away to college to see how we are growing.

Argh, modal theology!

Being naturally poor at modal philosophy, this thread could really do my head in.

I would just like to congratulate hojoko on creating one of the few threads that I am simply incapable (or nearly so) of commenting on. I would also like to give out a shout-out to ichibon because I have to admit, that last post doesn't even make sense to me, but not in a bad way.

This is interesting.
I saw that The_Masquerade brought up somthing that I was wondering myself. Which "God" are you talking about? OR are you just talking about some kind of omnipotent unseen figure?
Me being agnostic, I need to see something to believe something. So I don't like "assuming" things about subjects or objects whose existence I'm unsure of. If there are aliens [which I won't believe in until I see], and they have some sort of god, then good for them. I don't really see how it affects us in any way.

@necromancer An atheist eh? To me, it's all the same. You must be a man of great faith. I could never do that. I'm an agnostic myself. Anywho, I think aliens have their on gods because it's cooler.

Well assuming God exist we also assume he created life and the Universe. So that would mean, yes, he would have control over other species.

@necromancer: I think basing beliefs off of a series of books (which are admittedly extremely good) is a bit wrong.

Ricador,
But well over a billion people worldwide seem to follow a book. Christians,Muslims,Jews,Mormons, etc. (even if each also had a real person as a &quotrophet" too create it...)

Exactly! I was being facetious. Of course a billion people can be wrong. But in this case, how much does that really matter?
