Ha-Ha! No. Green Day is a one of the most famous punk band in the world! And I don't speak about their post-warning period!Even befeore they get known as a mainstream pop-rock band on MTV, they weremore than famous! You really can't compare a band as Linkin Park, which has always been mainstream, and Green Day, which was recognized by lots of fans as one of the most influensive band of the decade!
Green Day is a bit over rated if you ask me.

They used to be good (Hybrid Theory), but when they get on MTV, and starting touring all over the world, pretending to be the ebst musician ever, I'm ashamed i listenned their music...
