What's the difference between a boy band and a band made up of boys?
Usually nobody plays an instrument in a so-called boy band, instead every member just sings and dances to songs that somehow only appeal to pre-teen girls. Boy bands also tend to be focused more on their appearance than they are the quality of their music.
Does that information separate the men from the boys enough for ya?
Well, 1D were lovely on the Xfactor, being a group put together and not formed off their own accord, but god they really got boring fast. They're talented enough i suppose, but i hate all this over-rated rubbish Simon Cowell comes up with.
Since everyone is swimming around in the BoyBand pool, but can't name any... here's a small list of some (not all) Boy Bands from the present and the past!
The list is formed on the definition of a BoyBand as said below:
A boy band (or boyband) is loosely defined as a popular music act consisting of only male singers. The members are expected to dance as well as sing, usually giving highly choreographed performances. More often than not, boy band members do not play musical instruments, either in recording sessions or on stage, and only sing and dance, making the term somewhat of a misnomer. However, exceptions do exist. In many cases boy bands are brought together by a producer through an audition process, although many of them form on their own.
