This is the place to post who you think was(is) the best leader of his/her country. Back up your claim with facts and argue why your choice is better then everyone else's choice.

I think that the best leader was James K. Polk. He was the best president in US history to me. He only served 1 term and what able to accomplish all the goals he set for himself. He was able to get California added to the Union, he got the Oregon Territory from Great Britain without war, he lowered the tariffs, and he made a national treasury.

I think gen.zia ul huq and gen ayub khan were best leaders of pakistan because zia fended off red bear and ayub khan industrialized the country(as much as he could)
today, i think shehbaz sharif is a great leader as he works his *** off for serving people and i think imran khan should be given a chance.

Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore. Turned a Third World Nation to a First World one in three decades, on an island that had no resources, small population, which was surrounded by much larger hostile neighbours who had more than a little spat with it in the not too recent past. Created the most modern and best military in the region to provide adequate defense, stamped out almost all corruption and crime. Increased our GDP per capita from 500 dollars in 1965 to close to 50,000 today.

Marshall Josip Broz Tito, of Yugoslavia. Joined countries that were divided by hatred and racism into a large country called the Kingdom of Serbs, Slavs and Croats, later-on known as Yugoslavia. Serbs, Slavs and Croats have pretty much always hated each other due to the gruesome things we did to each other during other wars, despite all being practically the same country. If Tito were not there, there would've been mass slaughtering's of all 3 countries, and also Albania and Bosnia. He saved the 5 or 6 countries, and made one of the best socialist countries to ever exist.

When you hear the term "socialism", it doesn't strike like a very nice place to live in. But Yugoslavia, it was a beautiful country, with a beautiful government. Too bad Tito's brother was a complete retard

The great world power of the Netherlands?

Alexander the great. He took over the known world using only Macedonia, rising into legend. Macedonia was not exactly doing great, but then it was changed into the ruler of the world until he died.

Got love a leader who kills more russian than the jews killed by germany.

My opinion is Winston Chruchhill. This guy was the only person to keep England fighting during WWII. without him the bombing would have created so much fear that England would have been invaded

Oliver Cromwell
I'm normally a supporter of the monarchy but how the monarchy used to rule England was more similar to a dictatorship to a democracy. Cromwell lead England and the British Empire to a more democratic empire with power shared more evenly between an elected Parliament and a monarch with limited powers.

Any Monarchy leader.

Seriously though, I actually do believe Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union was one of the best leaders of all time.

What an unfortunate comment. Stalin was arguably the best leadr of the world until he wet insane and killed millions of imaginary "opponents." During his "golden age" he more than tripled the power of Russia's economy, industrialized the entire population of a good 500 million, and actually did help kill the Central Alliance off during the Interwar Years between 1919 and 1935. Of course, then he went mad with power.

that sure is impresive. is the growth rate still going on or has it been lowered by the crisis aswell?
