Gold bricks one: he cuts it four times. Diagonally twice (makes two, then makes four), then vertically (six), then horizontally (eight). Regarless of the shape (as long as it is all straight lines), if he cuts it evenly then he will get 8 pieces, like a pizza. He will just have eight very sharp triangles.

Good idea, but you can do it with less cuts, and it does not have to do with the angle you cut it at.

Day 1: give him the 1/7. 1/7
Day 2: take back the 1/7 and give him the 2/7. 2/7
Day 3: give him the 1/7 again. 3/7
Day 4: take back both of them and give him the 4/7. 4/7
Day 5: give him the 1/7. 5/7
Day 6: take back the 1/7 and give him the 2/7. 6/7
