Same here. God did put the animals down on Earth for us to eat them. (Well the ones that taste good) I admit that I actually don't feel bad when I eat a hamburger. I like many others have nothing against vegetarians, but i just think you are taking it a bit far...

XCoheedX, may I remind you that animals were on this planet long before humans. Humans eveolved from animals, and now humans are driving animals to extinction. I almost hope some freak natural disaster would wipe out the humans, like the meteor that killed off the dinosaurs.

You know, if you don't order that hamburger or chicken finger meal, and if that makes you feel better about the horrid conditions some animals go through, fine. But honestly, if I don't order that hamburger, someone else will - either way, that chicken is going to be eaten.

And I would think, ubertuna, since you know what those animals go through, you would understand. Not eating those chicken fingers means that that chicken died in vain!

Not eating that chicken means that one less chicken gets eaten. Also considering that they are dying so that we can stuff our already obese selves, I'd say that the chickens "die in vain" either way. Now there are just less dying in vain, if only a few.

No, not eating that chicken does not mean that one less chicken gets eaten. Restaurants do not poll around asking how many people are vegetarians, so they know how much meat to order, they just order the 'same' amount each time.

And not all of us are obese, ubertuna, haha.

You should add "yet" to that last sentence. and a chicken not eaten is a chicken not eaten. To say otherwise is not logical.

What part of 'restaurants order the same amount of meat everytime' is so complicated? Just because you don't order the chicken, that same chicken is still dead. *sigh* I might as well not continue with this discussion, because it really is not going anywhere.

And I highly doubt I will ever become obese.

It appears that very few people have looked at the link that I posted, so I will post the actual images. This is in response to this post by Megamickel:

"Vegetarians fail to realize that animals are just that - animals. They are lower lifeforms that we have dominion over. While they may be capable of pain, they are NOT sentient and are NOT able to think on the level to decide what is right and wrong. Therefore, I have no compunction about slaughtering and eating them. Good day."

And it doesn't matter how many chickens that the restraunts order. Every chicken not eaten by me or other vegetarians is one less that has to die to feed people that DO choose to eat meat.

Haha wow, who in the world thought up that 'baby cakes' comic? I can only laugh, since it seems like something to be placed in an episode of 'The Twilight Zone'.

Well, it brings up the question of "what will we do when we drive all of the animals to extinction?" And comes up with an answer. What do you think would happen when we kill off all of the animals? Realitically, would we give up our meat eating ways or would we find a way to continue our current lifestyles and diets? And if so, how?

We will never drive every animal to extinction; you notice how the comic does not give a rational reason as to how they die out? It does not give a reason, they just magically 'disappeared'. Besides, the world will most likely end before we manage to eat every single creature on the planet.

Again, it is an interesting comic, but should just be left as something in The Twilight Zone.

We will never drive animals to extinction? Then why has the extinction rate on Earth increased by over 100 times, or %10000, since we first appeared on the planet?

And you're avoiding the questiov. What would we do if we drove all of the animals to extinction? How would we maintain our current lifestyles and diets?

I am avoiding the question?

You do not believe in a god, right? Well what do you think god is like? That is kindof like what you are asking me. I do not believe we shall drive them to extinction, not while humans are still on the planet, so I can not really answer it.
